Movie Review: Most watched Docu-movie

My best friend introduced me to DM in the late 80s early 90s. I have been addicted ever since and didn't even realize after listening to some songs that I was an unknowing fan.
She had a copy of 101 and after the first viewing we watched it repeatedly. Weekends were spent enjoying the music and wishing we were the fans having one heck of a road trip.
I eventually got to go to one of their concerts and I have to say that this DVD touched base on what it was like to be there. It was amazing the electricity and excitement DM could put into a show run with 3 Keyboards and some sound machines but it will always be one of the greatest concert experiences of my life.
If you like Great music, entertainment, and a look at your favorite band then this is one of the best DVDs you can add to your collection. LOVE the band and music!
Movie Review: Can't Wait

I won my copy of this on VHS back in 1989. (I wasn't even old enough to legally own it, I was 14, and 101 was granted a 15 certificate in my native England)... It's one of my most treasured items as it's fully autographed by all four DM members.But it's worn out from repeated viewing. So a DVD release is most welcome!
I don't mind the fact that the show is incomplete, the press release from it's makers even claims that they don't even know where the missing songs are. I think the inclusion of an uninterrupted version of what concert footage they have on the second disc should be regarded as a bonus, and not a given.
101 is not, and was never meant to be a concert movie. It's a documentary. It captures the band in a moment. It captures their audience (albeit a concentrated snapshop) in a moment.
And it's great.
Movie Review: Depeche Mode The Real World Style

Well not exactly this was release before the Real World started on MTV . This is a great documentary style film on the "Music for the Masses" tour. The film starts with a contest for lucky fans of the group Depeche Mode to win a ride along with the group. This called for a ground breaking Ideal in the music industry, to shoot a film about what happens. This is far more interesting and entertaining then most documentaries that are released and the great thing is actually feeling like being in the journey. This film ends up at the rose bowl performance and give a little detail what happens behind the curtain at a concert of every caliber. Excellent and post modern ideal coming from 1988 (and was released in 1989).Movie Review: THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!

What is wrong with some of you people? 101 is a great movie. It has everything you can possible want: drama, comedy, and kick-ass music. 101 is like 4 movies in one--you could watch the whole thing from beginning to end, watch the band hanging out, watch the fans on the bus, or you could just sit back and listen the classic tumes. The fans were stupid but you couldn't keep your eyes off of them. It was like a car wreck then and still is now. I do agree that the band kind of lost its way after Alan Wilder left but this movie is a time capsle. It shows the band at a crossroads--between underground cult group and the mainstream success they acheived on the release on the Violator album. Do see it now!!!Movie Review: great movie on DVD

When I first heard they were going to release 101 on dvd it brought memories when my friend and I would watch the movie over and over again because we were big DM fans. Well the movie is still great on DVD and the sound is excellent compared to how it was on VHS. The extras are great especially the interviews with the band and with some of the kids in the movie. Overall, if you are a DM fan this is a must buy for you.
