The first Pilates workout that I did was the "Method" which was ok but long. Next, I tried Denise's "Mat Workout Based on the Work of J.H. Pilates" Loved it. It was a great challenge and within a few weeks, I could tell a difference in the way I moved and my cloths were loser. Then the group I was working out with wanted something different, we tried "Pilates for Dummies" and "Winsor Pilates" but we all keep coming back to, Denise's "Mat Workout Based on the Work of J.H. Pilates". Denise's workout is hard for beginners, but if you take it slow, you can soon begin to do the complete workout. I love the bonus workouts, Yoga Pilates, Hip and Buns. The Hip and Buns is just 10 minutes long and every effective.
Movie Review: relaxing & enjoyable! Summary: 5 Stars
Denise can always be a bit over the top, but she's very laid back in this video. This is a great intro to Pilates for the beginner & a great relaxing workout for the more advanced. If you are a beginner, you'll need to work in to some of the moves... but you'll find they come quicker than you thought. I've been using this video since I first started exercising after having my last of 4 children. I'm much more advanced now & still enjoy these routines in the evenings sometimes to work out the stress of the day... or when I'm sick or just feeling lazy. You really do feel taller and leaner when you finish these exercises.
Movie Review: Easy and Simple for beginners Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the DVD in Jan. My three daughters( all under 12 ) do this work-out with me everyday, workout 1 on day 1, workout 2 plus the bonus workout on day 2. Nothing on week-ends. I lost 2 lbs and 1 inch off my waist after 10 days. My daughters have each lost 1 lb and 1/2" off their waist. We think this is a very easy workout, no sweating at all. The only thing we find remotely difficult is the criss-cross for the abs. We love it, and with results like that(no diet change) we'll keep doing it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to lose inches without killing yourself to do it.
Movie Review: THIS DVD ALONE GOT ME INTERESTED AND HOOKED ON PILATES Summary: 5 Stars
I am a certified pilates instructor who got "hooked" on pilates from buying this DVD. Years ago, I was looking for something I could do after a 12 hour work day that wouldn't take long and would help me see results. THIS IS IT! I know Denise can be anoying sometimes with her voice and over exagerations.....this DVD is worth having in your collection! If you are looking for something to add to your weekly workout that will not take much time, but you can FEEL....don't hesitate to buy this one (especially since it is very reasonably priced)
Movie Review: Wonderful DVD to add in your home-exercise collection! Summary: 5 Stars
Oh my god! It's great! This is the item you must add in your home exercise collection, and you can use it over and over. I run 30 min everyday, and moderately exercise regular basis. I think this is a great for beginners - mid-range exercisers, like me. I use this DVD once in a week or so especially when I don't feel like running outside or not enough time to go to gym. It gives you a great mixture of core stability exercise and relaxation. Her voice tone is also wonderful to listen while you`re working hard.
