Helen, a writer, and Madeline, an actress, have hated each other for years. Madeline is married to Ernest, who was once Helen's fiance. After she recovers from a mental breakdown, Helen vows revenge by stealing back Ernest and plotting to kill Madeline. Both rivals have secretly drunk a miracle cure for aging; they accidentally discover, when each tries to eliminate the other, that they have become immortal and that "life" will never be the same again. This is truly a classic in the black comedies. The score is terrific, set design fantastic, and all around excellent movie.

What a great film with such good people in it. Meryl Streep is great like always and Goldie Hawn is funny as well. Isabella Rossellini is also good in this. I didn't even recongize her from "Blue Velvet." Death Becomes Her is really funny and wicked. The two ladies both die but come back to life with different problems and Bruce Willis is the guy caught in the middle of it all. There is nothing bad I can say about "death." It's a must see film. When I saw it in the store when I was younger, I always thought it was a horror film. Boy was I real off about that.Movie Review: A witty and funny comedy

A witty and funny comedy with a dark and hysterically devilish undertone. The three actors, Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis play their parts brilliantly making what could be an oddball script into a brilliantly comedic classic.
Goldie Hawn (always funny) plays a homely woman who nemesis is Meryl Streep. When fate lands at her door and she becomes a stunning best selling author while Meryl, who plays an aging actress withers away.
Twists and turns at every bend. This is a must see movie.

Death Becomes her is star studded, spectacular, which is both thrilling and hilarious. I love it mainly for the fact that it stars Meryl Streep. As well as a fantastic actress she has the timing of a comic genius. The DVD has never before seen footage on how they created the amazing special effects and talks with the actors. If you like meryl streep, Goldie hawn, cosmetic surgery, a spooky sci-fi, rip-roaring comedies or just fancy Bruce Willis, you NEED to watch this film. I have loved this movie for years...it is always in the top 5 of my favorite movies, maybe even the top 3...Bruce Willis, who generally is not a funny guy, is hilarious in his turn as a washed-up, alcoholic Hollywood plastic surgeon, and Meryl Streep was never funnier, playing a has-been looks-obsessed movie star, and of course Goldie Hawn is a natural at comedy. If you haven't seen this movie you have to rent or buy it, you will laugh as hard the twentieth time you see it as you did the first time you saw it.
