Movie Review: The 1980's robot craze is back
Summary: 4 Stars

I will agree that this is not the best movie ever made. However, for those who were in high school and their early 20's through the 1980's, this is a classic movie.

There was a number of movies that were centered around robots in the 80's - Runaway, Short Circuit, etc. This was yet another movie exploring the world of robots. Unlike Short Circuit, BB is definitely no Johnny Five.

I agree with the others who have mentioned about Kristy Swanson. I forgot how good looking she really was (I think she still looks pretty good these days). The acting is not as horrible as some would say. The woman who played Elvira (also seen in Throw Mama From the Train)was absolutely classic in this movie.

So, don't expect a great movie. However, it is a good movie to remember the 80's....

This was a fun film. Kristy Swanson is adorable in the lead, The story is good, and the entire cast seems to be having a good time. So did I...that is, until, the ending. What's with her body turning into a robot from the inside? Where did that come from?!? It runied an otherwise enjoyable movie. The film SHOULD have ended in the scene before that - the girl dies in her boyfriend's arms, and he is devistated by what he has done that caused all of this. That SHOULD have been the end. Period. Not exactly uplifting, but then again not completely stupid either. The film makers should have learned when to leave things alone.

Ok, I would be lying if I said that it was a good movie, it's not a good movie, but it's pretty entertaining, it's cheesy as hell, it's extremely unbelievable and the ending is so bad that it's good! I never thought that I would like a bad ending, but this one is so ridiculous that it's absolutely hilarious lol! It's a bit like the ending from Macabre (it doesn't make any sense), but even more ridiculous.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it has one of the most awesome death scenes ever! When you throw a basketball in an old woman's face, her face explodes in pieces!

PS: Kristy Swanson is hot!

Movie Review: A LOST GEM, A DEADLY MOVIE!
Summary: 4 Stars

a lost gem from wes craven, thank god that it was finally released on dvd this year! "deadly friend" follows the simple wes craven formula - great story, great acting, great effects. while the special effects may not be outstanding based on today's standards and the story may seem quite old for today's generation, the movie was able to deliver the thrills!

one more thing, this is one of the clearest transfers i've seen in along time for amovie made in the 80's...
