Movie Reviews of Deadly Friend

Movie Review: I, ZOMBOT...
Summary: 5 Stars

DEADLY FRIEND has taken a thrashing over the years. Yes, the story is sort of loopy, and the "shock" ending is pretty silly, but I still find myself enjoying this movie! Paul (Matthew Laborteaux) has just moved into a new neighborhood w/ his mum and his robot, BB. Next door, a girl named Samantha (Kristy Swanson) lives w/ her drunk, abusive, and repugnant father. Across the street is the neighborhood crazy-lady named Elvira (Anne Ramsey) w/ her tall fence, alarm system, and shotgun. Samantha is killed by her idiot father, causing Paul to attempt the unthinkable- implanting BB's brain in her dome! The rest is a tale of revenge, as Samantha/BB goes on a rampage, including the infamous head-sizzling (head roasted into what resembles a burnt meatloaf) and head exploding (head goes boom like a grenade in a watermelon) scenes! I think that one reason I like DF so much is that Samantha is a decent character, a sympathetic girl w/ a terrible home-life. She gets to indulge in some payback on those who deserve it. Plus, I have a dark, damp spot in my black heart for the whole FRANKENSTEIN/RE-ANIMATOR thing...

Movie Review: The best movie of all time
Summary: 5 Stars

Deadly Friend is an absolute masterpiece! I consider it one of the best movies ever made, far far better than the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I dont know why there weren't any sequels made, the ending kind of hints at a sequel. I really hope that an HD version of the film comes out in the near future or even better, a sequel. It's definitely worth it to purchase the DVD though, since it contains all of the parts originally cut out of the VHS release.

Movie Review: Finally !!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have this movie on vhs and saw in it the theaters, I am glad that this little sleeper of a film is finally getting release on dvd :) great acting by the full cast, good placement of horror, slapstick comedy, love story , being an actor and writer myself I like the way this was assembled. Thank you again for finally releasing this classic.

Movie Review: Memories........
Summary: 5 Stars

Deadly Friend was one of my favorite movies when I was a teenager. When I saw it was finally available on DVD I had to get it. The story is nerdy, unrealistic, and even slightly romantic (well as romantic as bad horror movies can get), but that's what makes the movie so great, and fun to watch! I do not regret purchasing it
