Movie Review: very good prequel

Dead Man's Walk is a very good prequel and a fine follow-up to the classic western miniseries Lonesome Dove. This one focuses on the early days of Gus and Woodrow from Lonesome Dove and it's a good story with a fine cast which includes JEN GARNER! Great cast through and through but Keith Carradine and Harry Dean Stanton steal the show.

dead man's walk is a preqeal to lonesome dove and alows us to meet gus and call as young men. once again we are sent into adventure with these two friends. while i will say that this isn't as good as the first,it is still lightyears ahead on "return ot lonesome dove",and if you like that or just a good western this is one to have.Movie Review: good stuff

I've had a great time watching all of the the Lonesome Dove miniseries and Tv Series. Dead Man's Walk is an entertaining look at Gus and Woodrow's early days. Not quite up to the mark set by the original Lonesome Dove, but then nothing is!
Dead Man's Walk satisfies as a prequel to the first. Give it a shot. I'm glad I did.

Finally a western based on a book that is actually as good as reading the book. The only complaint is that Buffalo Hump had no hump in the movie which is a huge part of the character. Overall great movie the actors did a great job portaying there characters.Movie Review: great movie

It's hard to compare to the original "Lonesome Dove" but this movie is a great story of Gus and Call in thier younger years as Texas Rangers and the loves that crossed thier path . Recommended 10 times over !!
