Movie Review: A few minor flaws, but still very worthwhile!
Summary: 4 Stars
Very good movie, though not quite as good as Lonesome Dove or perhaps Streets of Laredo. My primary complaints are limited to Walker's Forest Gump-like portrayal of Call and the very odd ending. However, one can hardly fault the movie for being true to the book's ending. As for Call, Miller's portrayal made Call seem dense rather than socially awkward or ill at ease. Arquette, on the other hand, was terrific as Gus and really brought him to life. BTW, where did they leave Buffalo Hump's hump? On the whole, however, the movie was a good adaptation and it was delightful to see Gus and Call again. We too are waiting for Commanche Moon! Please hurry!
