Movie Reviews of Day Watch (Unrated)Movie Review: A Must See Sequel Summary: 5 Stars
Sequels be damned some say, but never in this great masterpiece of work. DayWatch finally came to the US and it was one of the best sequels to date in the Vampire Series. I recommend watching it in its native tongue of Russian to really get into it, but if English is a must, it holds up pretty well in the dubbed version. Cutting edge camera angles, imagery and acting. The costumes are very well done for this Russian tale of Teeth, Love and the power struggle of Good Vs. Evil.
I can't wait until the Third Installment comes out and watch the series back to back. DayWatch is a Masterpiece Sequel to NightWatch!
Movie Review: One step further Summary: 5 Stars
If you liked Night Watch, you must see this sequel to it. It continues the plot line from the first movie in an unpredictable way. It's even more otherworldly, more bizzare, more of everything you liked about Night Watch. I am not sure why it is unrated, the violence is no more than the first and there is nothing that stands out as being shocking or taboo. (aside from the usual blood drinking) Worth the watch and I can't wait for the next and final chapter!
Movie Review: A great sequel Summary: 5 Stars
This is a worthy sequel to the first in the series "Night Watch", but should definitely only be watched by those who have seen the first one (and hopefully remember it too). While some of those I watched this with consider the sequel to be even better than "Nightwatch" the two are of a piece, if you didn't like the style and story of the original you won't like the sequel either. I, however, did enjoy the first one and give this one 5 stars as well.
Movie Review: Dark Days... Summary: 5 Stars
Anton (Konstantin Khabensky) is back, trying to fulfill his duties on the nightwatch, while suffering through his son's chosen allegiance to the dark. Filled w/ incredible action sequences and the same crazy, light-speed pacing, DAYWATCH is another russian masterpiece of apocalyptic madness! My favorite scenes include the "hotel hallway sportscar drive", "body switch", and "utterly frantic party climax". My one wish / hope is that hollywood does NOT attempt to remake this (or Nightwatch) into its latest billion dollar mega-turd...
Movie Review: Fantastic! Summary: 5 Stars
I thought both Nightwatch and Daywatch were great movies... Nightwatch is darker, where Daywatch is much lighter (funny how that works). Daywatch has more humor and more clever effects, but maintains the story perfectly... There are plenty of twists and quirky dialog... I saw it at the theaters with subtitles, but I am interested to hear how well the DVD is dubbed. I can hardly wait to see the next instalment of the series!
