When we last left DARK SHADOWS in Dark Shadows DVD Collection 3:
Yes, Dr. Julia Hoffman knows that Barnabas Collins is a vampire. She has been giving Barnabas injections to supposivly change his cells to help him live a more normal life. He is very suspicious of Dr. Hoffman as well as he should be.
Only David, Victoria and Maggie have ever seen Sarah. David knows she is a ghost, but not the others. They all want to find Sarah to help Maggie with her memory.
Barnabas knows the name of "Sarah" and begins looking for his beloved sister he hasn't seen in 172 years.
The distainment between Barnabas and Burke Devlin continues. Burke decides to buy the house by the sea that Victoria found and became fond of. Burke proposes to Victoria.
Barnabas still wants Victoria under his spell. He despises Burke, just as much as he disliked Jeremiah 172 years ago.
Burke has a private investigator on the case about Barnabas Collins and his current time in England. There are no records of course because we know that Barnabas has been in the Mausoleum coffin for over 100 years.
Barnabas vows to kill Burke Devlin as he did Jeremiah.
Dr. Hoffman is still prying into all of the Collins personal business and being much more demanding in her questions.
Sarah, the ghost child, leads David into the Mausoleum to show him the secret room (where Barnabas arose from his coffin for the first time in episodes 210 & 211 Dark Shadows DVD Collection 1). She makes him open the coffin. It is empty.
So where is the body of Jason McGuire that Barnabas and Willie had hidden there?
Joel, Sam and Dr. Woodard are realizing their is something supernatural going on in Collinsport. They are getting closer to finding more clues to solve their mystery.
After being trapped in that secret room. David is now at home recuperating. Suddenly, the window mysteriously slams open and a bat flies into David's bedroom trying to attack him.

Having seen the first 4 DVD collections now (with Barnabas Collins), you will notice 11 year old, David Henesy is a remarkable child actor. He delivers his lines as a professional. When he makes a mistake, he corrects it and/or continues on perfectly. The best acting is when the audience does not notice a mistake has been made.
As of this writing, David Henesy, now 53, has not appeared at any of the recent annual Dark Shadows Reunion Fesitivals. He is currently a Managing Director of a hotel developing company. He lives in South America.
Update: November 5, 2010. DARK SHADOWS will begin production in April 2011 with Johnny Depp as "Barnabas Collins". Tim Burton directing. They will film at Pinewood Studios. Novelist Seth Grahame-Smith has "revamped" the screenplay replacing John August.
