Movie Reviews of Dark Blue WorldMovie Review: A luminous story Summary: 5 Stars
We heard of this film and then had to wait quite awhile to find it available, but it was and is definitely worth the wait. This is a wonderfully made story about an area of WWII with which I was previously unaware. It is beautifully written and acted and while it deals with a sad and difficult time, it still manages to celebrate the human spirit. Anyone interested in the history of that time period will find it very well-done.
Movie Review: Great film Summary: 5 Stars
If this film has nothing else, it has possibly the most realistic flight sequences I have seen...beautiful camera work. The storyline could be considered a bit predictable but somehow, the ending managed to slip by my 'Got this one figured out' radar (don't know how that happened really...must have gotten distracted by the subtitles) Overall, It makes my top 5 WWII movie list
Movie Review: The best war buddy movie! Summary: 5 Stars
Just watched this movie (DVD) and still pontificating about the relationship between the two main characters - Slama and Karel. Am going to watch it again - the more I think about it the more I discovered - such was the complexities of their friendship and bonding. Watch it - you'll be heart-wrenched at the end!
Movie Review: Dark Blue World Summary: 5 Stars
One of the greatest jobs of film directing ever achieved. Watch how many beautifully positioned shots go into each wonderful scene. For simple direction, this film ranks with "Lawerence of Arabia," as one of the greatest film classics of all time.
