Movie Reviews of Danny Deckchair

Movie Review: A little movie with a big heart
Summary: 5 Stars

Please get Danny Deckchair and enjoy one of the sweetest, most heartfelt movies you will ever see. What a joy to see a simple, feel-good movie with a big heart and wonderful actors, instead of car chases, battle scenes, overwhelming special effects (that dwarf the story), and high-tech flash. Rhys Ifans is wonderful. When is someone going to give this talented, expressive actor more exposure? Miranda Otto and the rest of the cast are great, too. If you want to smile and feel great for a couple of hours, get this movie.

Movie Review: Good little movie, funny.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a movie about a regular Austrailian Joe named Danny who decides to do something a little different, like make a deckchair fly. when his scheme actually works, he finds himself in a place where he re-discovers what he has lost, and the power one has over their own life. Tough decisions, funny situations, a whole lot of heart. This is a really good movie to rent or own.

Movie Review: GREAT movie - Rhys Ifans (Hugh Grant's roommate in Notting Hill) is charming and hilarious in this movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I watched this on a TV movie channel ONLY because Rhys Ifans' name caught my eye in the synopsis! And now I'm so glad I did! He is as entertaining in this movie as he was in Notting Hill! And he really cleans up well! About halfway through the movie he shaves and cuts his hair - this makes him look completely different! Now I'm ordering it on DVD - really enjoyable.

Movie Review: Danny Deckchair
Summary: 5 Stars

Danny Deckchair is a quirky tale loosely based on a true story. We liked the flawed, realistic characters and found the pace just right. It was a refreshing change from the nonstop turmoil of current action dramas, and we liked the Australian scenery. As a romantic comedy, it has the obligatory cheesiness, but all in all, we found it whimsical and charming.

Movie Review: UPLIFTING FROM DOWN UNDER
Summary: 5 Stars

A lighthearted look at the day to day life of a hard working regular guy from the big city. How he handles the "curve balls" that life throws at him, from a cheating girlfriend to a fantastic journey that lands him in a place where he can start anew. The results are at once hilarious and heartwarming, a must see.
