Movie Reviews of Danny Deckchair

Movie Review: Danny rides on his deckchair and falls from the sky a new man
Summary: 3 Stars

Danny Deckchair is a romantic comedy starring Rhys Ifans (Enduring Love, Human Nature) as Danny Morgan, the normal everyday guy who works in construction and who also likes to build things to see what the outcome is. He is married to his wife Trudy, played by the wonderful Justine Clarke (Look Both Ways, All Saints). They tend to bicker back and forth like most married couples do. While throwing a party with friends, Danny thinks of something. He thinks that if he ties enough ballons to his deckchair that he will float up in the air. So him and his friends tie the ballons onto the chair and eventually the chair lifts up with Danny and it flies up in the sky. The balloons eventually pop from fireworks and he winds up in another town and smack dab in the backyard of a house belonging to a woman named Glenda, played by the beautiful and talented Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Thin Red Line). She soon houses him and he winds up becoming the center of attraction in the town and soon Glenda and Danny grow to love each other. Soon, Danny's wife comes and finds him and so on, so forth. Different but typical romantic comedy in which I already knew the outcome of. Rhys Ifans plays strange characters so well and he's fantastic in this movie as well as Miranda Otto and Justine Clarke. Also starring Rhys Muldoon (The Saviour, Bitter + Twisted) and John Batchelor (Man-Thing, City Loop).
