Movie Reviews of Dan in Real LifeMovie Review: Steve Carel where is your nomination? Dane Cook this a real role. Summary: 5 Stars
Dan In Real Life follows the story of a widower dealing with tribulations in his life; His maturing daughters who consider him a bad father, his overbearing family. That all changes when he finds a new love and as they say the crap hits the ceiling. All in all this movie is wonderfully crafted and entertaining. And finally Dane Cook is given a real role not his other misses including Good luck chuck, I for one think he is a rising star. Anyway this film becomes entertaining and a not-so-dramatic-drama that anyone can sit through and learn a thing or to. Share this movie with your love one's and sit together. Oscar anyone?
Movie Review: I laughed, I cried, I bought it. Summary: 5 Stars
When this movie first came out the reviews were so-so and I didn't make the effort to get to the theater to see it. I just put it on my "rent it" list. I couldn't even tell you exactly why I love it so much, but when it later showed up on a movie channel I watched it over and over until I realized I should just buy it. This is a different side of Steve Carell. Still funny, but smart and vulnerable and struggling to do everything he can for his three daughters. Outstanding, if unexpected, casting. All the acting is first rate. Family relationships that feel genuine. I love this movie.
Movie Review: Real Dan Summary: 5 Stars
Dan in Real Life is different than what I expected. The first thing I couldn't get over was the musical score, but then it grew on me. The progression is also a little strange (very independent feeling, whereas I thought it would be more of the slapstick comedy), but it's a fun story. I actually really like the movie now. The kids and family do a great job of portraying what a real family is like when they all hang out together... very natural acting, if I can call it that (i.e. when singing around the piano before Ruthie shows up). :)
I like Dan in Real Life.
Movie Review: Dan in reel life. Summary: 5 Stars
After being put off by the picture on the DVD cover as displayed in Instant Netflix, I finally watched Dan in Real Life on TV. I loved it. Besides just liking to look at Maria/Anne (Juliette Binoche), I was taken with her changing facial expressions as she gradually is attracted to Dan. The film is a nice mix of comic situations with the real struggles of the characters as the plot thinkens/unfolds. I also thought Dan's three girls are so realistic as kids of that age. Lots of fun for us chick flick affectionados. -tower
Movie Review: You Can Lead a Horse to Water But You Can't Make Them Drink Summary: 5 Stars
I think this is a great movie. It deals with life and it's funny and its about family.
I gave a copy to my sister & brother-in-law to watch. But its been over 2 months since I gave it to them and they haven't watched it yet. Thus the reason for the title. They are 70 and retired so its not like they can't find 90 minutes to watch. However, they haven't turned their DVD player on yet, so who knowsDan in Real Life
