Movie Review: "A Good Sequel"
Summary: 5 Stars
After the huge success of "The Omen" it was only a matter of time before the studio released a sequel. "The Omen 2" continues the story in which the child of the antichrist (Damien) is adopted by its aunt and uncle played by William Holden and Lee Grant. Damien is now in military school and his goal is to take over his uncle's business empire and to ultimately destroy the world. The film is not as strong in story as the original, but it's still well-written and acted. Fans who loved the first film will most likely enjoy this sequel. Lee Grant also gives a fasinating performance, the best in the movie.
The DVD only features commentary by the film's producer Harry Bernhard.
Most critics panned the film, but nevertheless it is a good sequel that would spawn more movies in "The Omen" franchise.
"The Omen 2" is also available in a beautiful boxset that contains all "The Omen" movies including the remake.
