Movie Review: One of the best seasons. Big Rewatch Value.

In what fans consider as one of the best seasons of this addictive and timeless TV drama, the reading of patriarch Jock's will sets the stage for a nasty season-long battle between J.R. and Bobby for control of Ewing Oil which has repercussions for everyone in Dallas. The plots and storylines are all excellent, gripping and solid, and will keep you hooked during the classic episodes and unbeatable drama. J.R. is up to his tricks in each episode and his nastiness ensures he makes enemies this season too. All episodes stand up to repeated viewings. DALLAS was still the number one TV show in the USA, UK and in numerous countries when this season was first broadcast in 1983.

Season 6's classic and exciting episodes are:

1) Changing of the Guard
Miss Ellie, Bobby and Lucy vote to have J.R. removed as president of Ewing Oil. Bobby is sickened that J.R. blackmailed him over baby Christopher and gives J.R. an overdue punch in the face. Rebecca, Afton and Pam visit Cliff who is in a coma in the hospital because of J.R.'s scheme to destroy him. Ewing Oil gets new offices. J.R. accepts Holly Harwood's offer to secretly run Harwood Oil.

2) Where There's A Will
J.R. schemes to get an advance look at Jock's will by blackmailing his lawyer's son-in-law. Sue Ellen decides she needs time to consider remarrying J.R. Pam persuades Lucy to see a doctor about her pregnancy.

3) Billion Dollar Question
J.R. pressures Miss Ellie to open Jock's will and uses an IRS agent to put pressure on Bobby. Miss Ellie decides to socialize again. Holly rebuff's J.R.'s sexual advances. J.R. uses John Ross as a pawn to win back Sue Ellen.

4) The Big Ball
J.R. arranges a surprise for Miss Ellie at the Oil Baron's Ball. Sue Ellen gets a shock while visiting Clayton. Lucy decides to put the past behind her. Miss Ellie decides to have Jock declared legally dead.

5) Jock's Will
The Ewings gather at Southfork for the reading of Jock's will. Gary arrives to a typically unpleasant welcome from J.R. and a cool reception from daughter Lucy. The reading of Jock's will sets the stage for a nasty year-long, winner-take-all battle between J.R. and Bobby for control of Ewing Oil.

6) Aftermath
Miss Ellie is caught in the middle of J.R. and Bobby's sparring over who should run Ewing Oil. Bobby and Pam get good news about baby Christopher. Afton tries desperately to raise Cliff's spirits.

7) Hit and Run
J.R. schemes to take advantage of Bobby in their rivalry over Ewing Oil while Bobby gambles on a risky business proposition. Pam is torn between her mother and the Ewings. J.R. sets up a car accident in his scheme to get his oil variance.

8) The Ewing Touch
J.R. blackmails Walt Driscoll over the oil variance. There are mixed emotions all round when Miss Ellie invites a man to dinner. J.R. and Bobby continue trying to outmaneuver each other in their race for Ewing Oil. Cliff gets mad at Pam for helping Bobby secure the Canadian deal.

9) Fringe Benefits
Bobby discovers that his ace card in the race with J.R. may be in jeopardy. Miss Ellie rejects the idea that she has a new romantic interest. J.R. tries to use Sue Ellen to get a refinery but the scheme backfires and Cliff gets it instead.

10) The Wedding
Bobby accuses J.R. of using Jock's will to destroy Ewing Oil. Guests gather at Southfork for J.R. and Sue Ellen's wedding. Miss Ellie expresses her frustration at the trouble Jock's will has caused. Ray tries to protect Lucy from Mickey's attentions.

11) Post-Nuptial
Cliff's presence at J.R.'s wedding celebrations causes tempers to flare and he fights with J.R. in the pool. Bobby makes a worrying discovery about J.R. which could disgrace the family name.

12) Barbecue Three
Angry oilmen led by Cliff confront J.R. at the Ewing barbecue but Bobby, Ray and an angry Miss Ellie stick up for the Ewing family. Miss Ellie vows to stop the battle for Ewing Oil by deciding to go to court to break Jock's will.

13) Mama Dearest
Miss Ellie's decision to contest Jock's will causes further divisions in the family. J.R. warns Miss Ellie that he will fight her in court and Bobby reluctantly sides with J.R. while Pam sides with Miss Ellie. An angry J.R. confronts Clayton who visits with Miss Ellie at Southfork.

14) The Ewing Blues
Miss Ellie faces a dilemma as she sees her family disintegrate because of Jock's will. Lucy is secretly amused by her feud with Mickey. J.R. gets a punch in the face from Ray. J.R. blackmails Holly over Harwood Oil business.

15) The Reckoning
Miss Ellie is distressed when the hearing to overturn Jock's will takes place. Sue Ellen discovers Mark's obvious interest in Pam and tells J.R. who tries to use Mark to break up Bobby and Pam. J.R. and Ray have another violent confrontation.

16) A Ewing is a Ewing
J.R. tries to romance Holly but she pulls a gun on him and threatens to kill him if he ever touches her again. Miss Ellie goes on a trip to escape from the tension at Southfork. Cliff comes up with a new scheme to get J.R. out of Dallas.

17) Crash of '83
Bobby goes against his principles when he is forced to emulate J.R.'s dirty dealing. J.R. gets suspicious of Clayton's intentions towards Miss Ellie. Afton receives some shocking news which affects Cliff and Pam.

18) Requiem
Cliff feels guilty about the plane crash which caused his mother's death as she went in his place to stop J.R.'s deal. Clayton accuses J.R. of being responsible for Rebecca's death. J.R. plans a Caribbean oil deal after he receives a setback from the energy commission. Pam makes a shocking announcement to Bobby.

19) Legacy
J.R. and Katherine both have their own reasons for being delighted when Pam leaves Bobby and Southfork. Lucy starts to form a friendship with Mickey after rescuing him from a bar-room brawl. J.R. succeeds in front of the family in making Bobby angry and vows that Bobby will get the all-out war he wants.

20) Brothers and Sisters
J.R. is irritated by Miss Ellie's blossoming friendship with Clayton. Bobby and Pam's relationship becomes even more strained. Lucy and Mickey reach an understanding. J.R. could go to jail for shipping oil to Cuba.

21) Caribbean Connection
Bobby discovers evidence of J.R.'s illegal oil shipment. Cliff and Katherine scheme to throw Pam and Mark together. Bobby secretly prepares a sting operation to stop J.R. ruining Ewing Oil and cryptically tells J.R. it will be a day to remember.

22) The Sting
Bobby and Ray face J.R.'s wrath after they bust J.R.'s illegal Caribbean deal. Bobby and Pam's marriage suffers a further rift. Bobby has a fight with Mark over Pam. J.R. tells Walt Driscoll he wouldn't give him the dust off his car much less bail him out of jail! A furious Driscoll vows revenge against J.R. as does Holly after J.R. loses her oil and her money.

23) Hell Hath No Fury
J.R. encourages Katherine to move in on Bobby. Lucy stands on the verge of happiness with Mickey. Holly puts her plan in motion to punish J.R. and to get him out of her life and her company. Sue Ellen finds proof of J.R.'s marital infidelity.

24) Cuba Libre
J.R. gets a rude awakening when he arrives in Cuba to negotiate a deal. Miss Ellie doesn't want to admit her feelings for Clayton. Bobby and Cliff clash over the Canadian deal and Bobby's marriage to Pam.

25) Tangled Web
Bobby finds out that Pam is in France with Mark. J.R.'s Cuban deal has widespread repercussions for his family. Holly continues to spin her web to trap J.R. Sue Ellen makes a devastating discovery.

26) Things Ain't Goin' Too Good at Southfork
Sue Ellen's period of sobriety comes to an abrupt end after she catches J.R. and Holly in bed. Pam has to make a difficult decision about her future with Bobby. Lucy and Mickey's efforts to help Sue Ellen end in tragedy when J.R.'s enemy strikes back resulting in Sue Ellen having a horrible hit-and-run car crash.

27) Penultimate
There are recriminations all round in the aftermath of the car crash which has landed Sue Ellen and Mickey in hospital. Lucy is particularly bitter towards Sue Ellen for being drunk at the wheel while J.R. also gets his fair share of the blame.

28) Ewing's Inferno
Pam asks Bobby for a divorce. A tense Miss Ellie has enough of her warring family and takes a vacation. Pam has a nasty confrontation with J.R. Bobby and J.R. decide to end their battle and to run Ewing Oil together. Ray is determined to kill J.R. and their big fight results in a major fire at Southfork which traps J.R. and his family inside as the flames engulf the house. One of the best cliffhangers!
