Movie Reviews of Cunning Stunts

Movie Review: Metallica in Ft Worth, TX - Raw, energetic, powerful
Summary: 5 Stars

This double DVD set was recorded during a live performance in FT Worth, Texas and contains a fabulous set of songs from most of Metallica's released albums up to Re-load. The performance took place on their newly designed stage and the lighting effects were captured well. The camera spends equal time on all the members of the group and there is significant audience interaction. Audio and video are above average for a live performance. If you like hard rock and metal this DVD is essential. It captures one of the most creative, enduring, and significant bands of our times.

This DVD includes interviews, documentary, and behind-the scenes footage as well as different camera angles on certain songs.

Since the DVD is not censored you can experience the "raw" Hetfield. But then I suspect those easily offended would in all likelihood not listen to Metallica - "So What?"

Movie Review: Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you even remotely like Metallica, get this DVD! This may even be a good reason to invest in a DVD player, this is as good as it gets. The video quality is exceptional, but it's the audio where this really stands out, man! You can really hear all of 'Tallicas songs well, especially my favs "Enter Sandman", "Sad But True" and "Wherever I may Roam", they sound great, and the crowd is absolutely nuts! Whoa, I wouldn't have especially wanted to be there, moshing in an arena that's seats are set at a 60 degree angle, that's extreme! But the music on here is fabulous! Although young children probably shouldn't hear this, there's some pretty bad language, especially on "So What", but if you are about 12 or older, this is probably okay for you, so enough, go out to your local Record Town, or wherever, and get this 2 DVD set!

Movie Review: The 'Tallica boyz continue their dominance...
Summary: 5 Stars

So-called die hard "fans" cringe that vocalist James Hetfield has lost his edge. Music listeners stuck in the early 80's fret that the band doesn't play enough old material. Critics claim Metallica has sold out. Well, as bassist Jason Newstead said in a recent TV documentary on VH-1, Metallica has sold out: every seat, every time, anywhere they go. This video demonstrates why - disturbingly tight musicianship, mesmerizing lighting and pyro-techniques, and honest, often comedic, interaction with the crowd. The intro to "One" for example, a dizzying array of gunfire, explosions, and stunning camera work, is as good a DVD demo moment as you'll find. Impress your friends, scare your parents. Metallica manages to make an arena show feel intimate. Loaded with extras, "Cunning Stunts" comes highly recommended.

Movie Review: METALLICA LIVE!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best performance I have seen in years. I didn't quite understand the opener "So What", being the cover that it was, it just seemed worng. Eventhough we hear an early riff from "Bad Seed" on ReLoad, I would have thought that they would have started with an original. But hey, Metallica has ALWAYS done the "Politically Incorrect thing" so it was cool. I have all of the vid releases and some "not so legal" bootlegs. 45 to be exact. Isham did a much better job with this one than "Live Shit",by not using that stupid visiual effect seen thruout the San Diego show from "Live Sh*t" Metallica is back, live on the stage. "Master of Puppets" was excellent, even if it was only about 5 min of the song. You ain't got it? GET IT!!!!! If youre a dweeb, GET IT AND A LIFE!!!!

Movie Review: A TOTALLY ROCKIN 5 Stars

I never really got into Metallica until my older brother showed me this concert and the Some Kind of Monster DVD. Kirk is one of THE BEST guitarists I have EVER seen in my entire At the end of the one song he throws his guitar at the audience! He also has is lip pierced. There drummer is weird. All he is wearing is what looks like boxers and shoes. That's it! While he sweats all over his double-bass drum set. As for James. He has to stop cursing so much! They say the "f" word WAY to much! And their bassist, don't really know what to say about him. He's a pretty good vocalist.
But if you like Metallica you need to see this! But please don't let young children watch this. THEY WILL REPEAT WHAT IS SAID!!!!!
Oh yeah and before I forget...THE WHOLE STAGE BLOWS UP!! I'M NOT KIDDING! SO GO AHEAD! Go buy it!!!!!
