Movie Review: Saw this movie first in the series
Summary: 5 Stars
I really liked this movie when Syfy showed it a few years ago, and when I later watched the first movie in the series via Netflix, I really didn't like it as much. I guess this second movie more resonated with me. Very good plot and characters that I really enjoyed. It was quite terrifying to feel their building-up frustration and terror in that horrifyingly trapped hypercube, particularly with the powerful but ultimately sad ending.
By the way, in the early 80's long before the Internet, I often had doodled the Hypercube design, which probably was one of the attractions to this movie. The doodling was based on my mother's standing Chinese screen with a similar design that she had bought from Hong Kong in the 60s.
I will buy this movie after my DVR that had recorded the movie died this year because it's really that good to me.

I just rented the film. I have to say that I loved it! Needless to say that it doesn't have the originality of the first "Cube", but from a mathematical-speculative point of view is an evolution.(It wouldn't count as a spoiler to say that while in "Cube" the maze is composed by sliding cubes, in "Hypercube" the maze is not composed by cubes but by, precisely, hypercubes. Furthermore... are those hypercubes moving too??? It just kept my head spinning for a while!)
I give it 5 stars because it's a film that will appeal greatly to the math/science aficionados, even when the film majors probably will find a thousand and one reasons to criticize it.

I never saw the original, but I love Cube 2. This movie stunned me. It is the kind of movie that makes you think and question everything around you. This movie after I first saw it, stayed in my head for days. You feel as if it could happen to you, as if a hypercube does in fact exist, and you could be its next victim.
