Movie Reviews of Crossroads

Movie Review: Great Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great movie, especially if your into music and Delta Blues slide guitar. I've had the VHS tape of this for years, and the DVD is a must have for those that like it. Ralph Maccio does a fair job, but the guy that plays Willie Brown, Joe Seneca, is outstanding and the best in the movie. The duel with Steve Vai as Jack Butler from Memphis is awesome, and the movie has that great climax of good vs evil, with good winning in the end. You gotta get it!

Movie Review: the best music film ever
Summary: 5 Stars

this is the most inspiring film ever made it just makes you want to pick up the guitar and play exept you dont wont to miss the film the duel at the end is the best ive ever seen it tells you the story of the misissipi delta blues and the missing song someone said to me that joe satriani played the parts that eugine did but write back and say if he did the film really opened my eyes to steve vai and recently i went to see g3 live i reccamend that as well

Movie Review: The Duel
Summary: 5 Stars

The duel between the boy and the devil's guitarplayer was actually filmed using the hands of Ry Cooder himself (who also wrote the score), taking on Steve Vai, playing Jack Butler.
Only when he remembers the lessons of his Juilliard guitar teacher, he realises he can beat this devilish guitarslinger, he turns to the baroque patterns that finally break Butler up.

One of the best scenes ever shot in a musicfilm.

Movie Review: One of the best ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw this movie when I was a kid and I really liked it. It is one of the best movies ever about blues legends (Robert Johnson) and of course the music, arrangments and Steve Vai playing makes it much more interesting. All the "Delta" style blues of Ry Cooder is great too, the shooting in Louisiana and all the colors and landscaping make you feel in the old blues cradle. I highly recomend it.
