Movie Reviews of CrossroadsMovie Review: Great Movie!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this movie in high school (huge Steve Vai fan here) and rented it so many times that my parents would no longer let me rent it. A few years ago I tried to buy the DVD, but could only find Britney Spears Crossroads and was getting frustrated until one day I found it. My son, who is 5, also LOVES the ending of the movie and asks me to play it over and over again. He is as much a Steve Vai fan as I am.
Anyone who has a small liking of Blues or guitar playing must see or own this movie.
Movie Review: Vai Should Be On The Cover Of DVD Summary: 5 Stars
Why do people buy this cool movie? The acting of Ralph Machio? No! They buy it for Steve Vai's bad ass duel scene. Therefore, why not stick Vai's face with his model-like cheek bones on the cover?
This movie, perhaps similar to other guitarists, was my Ed Sullivan moment. I just had to go out and buy a guitar and boogie like Steve!
Aside from the Steve Vai goodies, the story is an interesting one, with lots of southern and blues folklore.
Movie Review: A Blues classic Summary: 5 Stars
A must see movie for any blues guitar fan. Music from Stevie Vai and Ry Cooder with Robert Johnson tunes scattered throughout. A young blues/classical guitar student tracks an retired blues harmonica player to a medical prison in a search for Robert Johnsons 'lost song', then breaks him out and the adventure begins. The film climaxes in a cameo by Stevie Vai 'cuttin' heads' for the soul of the harmonica player. Has had a bit of a cult following since its release.
Movie Review: So glad this was made into a DVD Summary: 5 Stars
On of the most unrated abd best music movies.
GREAT atmosphere and an education for most about "roots" music and the path of the blues greats, who then invented Rock N Roll and then invented R&B.
Excellent acting, fantastic music, great, great atmosphere.
I would have left the girl out of the movie, but Joe Seneca gives an oscar worthy performance of this real, yet fantasy which taps into blues legend Robert Johnson.
Movie Review: Great Flick Worth Seeing! Summary: 5 Stars
If you're into music and love a good story line, this is a great movie to watch.
I remembered seeing it years ago with a few musicians and wanted it for my collection back then. A quick search at Amazon.com and voila! There it was. And the price was AMAZING too. I couldn't wait to see it again once I received my order. The down-home blues, classic guitar riffs, actors and Steve Vai all made this movie what it was (and still is). A must-see for all!
