Movie Reviews of Crocodile Dundee

Movie Review: That is not a knife... this is a knife...
Summary: 5 Stars

There seems to be a recipe for making great movies, and this film has all the ingredients. Adventure, action, romance, and great comedy.

A modern day Tarzan, Crocodile Dundee is simply one of those movies we must see. Paul Hogan is superb as he plays the audacious and brave hero out in the wilderness of Australia. Linda Kozlowski is the reporter who sets out to surface the story of man who was attacked by a crocodile and survived to tell the story.

Mick, as he is known by his friends... and he has many... has never set out foot from his environment. Invited by the reporter, he travels to New York City, where great adventure ensues.

New Yorkers are not ready for someone like Crocodile Dundee, but soon, they find themselves admiring and becoming friends with this simply, kind, respectful, and courageous visitor.

The end of the movie is one of the best scenes, capturing great love, and how, total strangers can become instrumental in bringing a relationship to its climax.

Don't miss this movie and you will find yourself saying... "That is not a knife... this is a knife!"

Movie Review: Very entertaining movie.
Summary: 5 Stars

Paul Hogan (Lightening Jack, Flipper) stars as Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee, a crocodile hunter. Wealthy reporter Sue Charlton (Linda Kozlowski, Favorite Son, Almost and Angel) meets him during an excursion into the Australian Outback.

Dundee accepts Sue's invitation to return to New York City with her. He soon finds that New York life is much different than the life he is used to. Not only must he learn to acclimatize himself with the new surroundings and deal with the jealous boyfriend of Sue Charlton. There are so many excellent 'fish out of water' scenes from this film; too many to list in one review.

This movie is very charming in its simplicity. It isn't full of confusing and complicated twists and turns at every angle, doesn't have several different subplots to keep up with and isn't full of murky characters that really have no purpose other than to take up a frame. It is a simple romantic comedy that is very much worth the time spent viewing it.

Movie Review: Winning Formula Made This A Big Hit
Summary: 5 Stars

When you mix good comedy with action and a very likable leading character you get a hit movie. I never met anyone who didn't like this film, although there are always detractors to any movie.

However, this was an extremely entertaining film that made an international star out of Australian Paul Hogan. Two sequels followed this one. They were good, too, but could not measure up to this effort in box-office appeal.

Not only was this a big success for Hogan and everyone else connected with it, but I believe he got a wife out of this wife, going on to marry his co-star Linda Kozlowski.

Hogan, as crocodile man "Mick Dundee" made the rest of the world aware of a number of Aussie phrases. Few men played as manly as likeable and charismatic a hero in the 1980s as Hogan and "Mick Dundee."

Over 20 years later, this is still a fun movie to watch now and then.

Movie Review: A Wonderful Walkabout Romance
Summary: 5 Stars

'Crocodile Dundee' is a highly entertaining comedy romance released in '86 that implanted such delightful Aussie terms as; "G'day" and "out for a walkabout" into Amercian mainstream consciousness.

Paul Hogan is absolutely perfect as the man from down under, Michael J. 'Crocodile' Dundee who is pursued by an American reporter (Linda Kozlowski) in search of a good newspaper story about the elusive crocodile hunter roaming the Australian Outback. When their brief but intense encounter blossoms into romance she invites Mic to return to New York with her and see the sights. Can a naive Aussie fresh from the bush cope with the perils that accompany life in the Big Apple? You Bet!!

Great family fun with good performances by Hogan and Kozlowski as well as John Meillon as Mic's Outback partner, Walter and a brief but memorable cameo by David Gulpilil.

Movie Review: Classic
Summary: 5 Stars

Now this was a super movie released originally back in 1986.Some of the comedy in this movie was outstanding.I like it the best of all 3 of them.
Some of my favorite moments are- just every thing that happened in that pub,
I liked the part when he went to meet with the aboriginals, she was spying on them, she asked him if he was telepathic,he responded naaa your a woman and a reporter. He just knew she would be there,by common sense huh. When he was going up the escalator, and onto the plane, that was hilarious.
So many parts were as funny as.That scene towards the end where he walked across the people was a classic. He loved that woman and ended up marrying her,and in real life too, amazing things happen.
Definite favorite movie, problem is i have seen it so many times now.Still love it though.
