Movie Reviews of CrittersMovie Review: Move over Bobba Feet Summary: 5 Stars
This movie when it came out in the mid eighties was a huge hit. A word of warming this movie has heavy language in it, heavy gore heavy scince fiction action sequences in it. As a result I do not recommend this movie to any one under the age of thirteen unless suprevised by at leasst two parents or guardians. There also three parts in this movie with vandalism once in a church, one in a bowling ale and one on a farm with Piano's and other protery being blown to bits by the two bounty hunters because they are trigger happy and get startled and aroused easily. Critters is the ultimate storey of good versus evil. As the stroey begins a space ship is arriving carring 8 prisoners to a high security space prison on an ansteriod. The prisoner are 8 super agressive crinmals of a species of meat eatting toxic aliens known as the Krites. There are eight remaining Krites you see when the krites were orrignally arrested there were ten of them aboard the ship but because of the krites super vorcaious appetite to eat everything insite they aliens that arrested them were forced two kill to of the krites in order to make there food supply last until they reached the prison. The krites have just arrived the prison. The warden sensing something is wrong sends some of the prison guards to the termination cell to check on krite. Shortly after the guards arrive at the cell some how through ways never explained the krites set of and explosion blowing a whole in the cell. The explosion kills to of the guards and the krites escape in a space ship to earth. They are persued there by two faceless shapesifting bounty hunter Ug and Lee. Once on earth the krites begin there rain of destruction. First a police cop is attacked by a single krite and after being stunned by a poison quill is dragged under his police car and is killed. The krites adventually end up at a farm in Kansas belonging to the Brown Family after killing a cow and the boy friend of Bradly brown's sister the Brown family alone must face off against these eight terrors from space. Will they Browns stop the krites and will the Bounty hunters get there in time or will the town of Grovers bend fall to ruin. Find out in the action packed conclusion
Movie Review: Good Sci-fi/horror comic fun! Summary: 5 Stars
Somewhere in space, a prison asteroid was going to have a vicious gang of furry baskeball-shaped razor-toothed alien creatures called "Krites" until they suddenly escape to Earth where they can fed on anyone or anything that comes in their way. The Brown family ( Billy Green Bush, Dee Wallace Stone, Scott Grimes, and Nadine Van Der Valde) will have one hell of a night fighting off these hungry hairballs that not even Sheriff Harv ( M. Emmet Walsh) and lovable drunk Charlie ( Don Opper) can stop but a pair of intergalatic shapeshifting bounty hunters named Ug ( Terrence Mann) and Lee come to the rescue to kill off these things.
Funny and entertaining Sci-fi horror comedy with charm and wit! the movie was kind of a cash-in on the success of "Gremlins" but the movie isn't really like "Gremlins" it's more in the tradition of E.C. Comics and those 50's Sci-fi flicks. Billy Zane does a nice earlier film appearence here before he became a big shot star and the movie has a sharp sense of humor including some good special effects like the bounty hunter transformations.
The DVD has good picture and sound quality with the only extras are the original theatrical trailer with trailers to the other Critters movies and there's a easter egg if you go up to see the highlighted Critter eyes you can see an alternate ending.
If your into lighthearted horror comedy or Sci-fi/horror flicks then i recommend this movie.

Movie Review: "They have weapons???? F##&!!!!" Summary: 5 Stars
B-movies seem to have a special place in my heart. This was no excpetion. Another one of those 80's campy sci-fi movies that makes you wonder why you like this movie and how come you haven't changed the channel, lol.
Basically, this is about interstellar furballs known as the Crites. They are pure eating machines. They also have porcupine like spines on their backs that they can shoot out and paralyze anything or anyone. Bounty Hunters from another world chase the Crites throughout the galaxy and locate them on Earth. These bounty hunters are like shape-shifters. They come to earth with no face and they can copy whoever they look at. One in particular copies the face of a rockstar it sees on the T.V. Another copies the town drunk; Charlie. The Crites eventually terrorize the quiet farm town and the Brown family on their farm. The Bounty Hunters in the meantime blow up anything that moves (not including people) in there search for the Crites. How times do you hear them say," We want the Crites!"
All in all this is a good movie. You gotta love those cute little critters! One time (not at bandcamp) they join together like transformers and create this huge critter. It's also funny to watch them communicate with each other. Apparently their language can be translated to english :)
The DVD comes with an alternate ending as well as widescreen and full screen formats. Another great addition to the DVD library.
My favorite part is when the Critters terrorize the Brown family on their farm. When the Critters have them trapped in a bedroom and Jay Brown (Billy Green Bush from Jason Goes to Hell) fires a shotgun, they Critters seem shocked and one says," They have guns?" Another say no, and another shot is fired by the father and kills one of the Critters. That same Critter that wondered, then said a expeditive that I can't repeat. Lets just say it's the curse on the top of the list, lol.
Movie Review: Power Of The Night........Streets Are Calling! Summary: 5 Stars
Critters is probably the best post-Gremlins movie about little monsters on the rampage. In fact, the movie is actually very good. It's a B-movie and never meant to be taken seriously, but that's pretty obvious just by looking at the cover(and title) of the film. This is another one you couldn't escape if you had HBO in the late eighties. What we got is some pretty vicious hedgehog-like creatures(they're escaped convicts) that make it to Earth to basically just eat everybody. The film focuses mainly on the family of Kansas farmers who get locked in a deadly game of survival with the Critters. One of them is the always reliable Dee Wallace Stone, who I've always though was as cute as a button. In the words of Bozo The Clown-Wait! There's more! The warden from the prison the Criiters escaped from has hired two bounty hunters to hunt the Critters down and blast them to kingdom come(they will be paid in full as usual). The bounty hunters can change their identity at will, and one of them chooses to be a popular 80s hair rock singer called Johnny Steel. I don't know why I find that so amusing, but I do. Does anyone know where I can can that "Power Of The Night" song he sings in the film? The movie must have been trying to promote this guy's singing career or something coz that song seems to be the only one any of the characters listen to. The other bounty hunter can't make up his mind who he wants to be, so he keeps changing. He spends most of his time looking like the hero's dimwitted friend, Charlie(who would become the only character to appear in all 4 Criiters films). This movie was made in the days when the PG-13 rating was still fairly new and was alot less wimpy than it is today. The violence just about pushes the PG-13 rating about as far as it can. Basically, I would wholeheartedly suggest to you all to relive some fond(or bad) childhood memories by experiencing Critters again now that it's on DVD.
Movie Review: These Fatal Fuzz-Balls Are Ferocious!... Summary: 5 Stars
CRITTERS is my favorite movie of it's type. I like it even more than GREMLINS (which I love), and far more than any of the other "puppet-monster" movies that came out (Ghoulies, Hobgoblins, etc.). CRITTERS takes us to the tiny town of Grovers Mill, Kansas, the site of an alien invasion. It seems that a renegade bunch of crites ( little, furry, carnivorous space monsters) have escaped from intergalactic prison, and headed straight toward earth for a snack (us)! This leads to a night of horror and hilarity, when the rolly creatures arrive and begin eating any / all flesh in sight! Two extraterrestrial bounty hunters are dispatched to hunt down and destroy the crites before they can fully satisfy their insatiable appetites. The bounty hunters are hilarious, as they can make themselves look like anyone they encounter, which means that one of them looks like a then-current (1986) MTV-type rock star, while his cohort winds up being the sheriff's deputy, the town preacher, and a farm-hand! Now, THAT'S comedy! Most of the CRITTER action takes place at the Brown family farm, where the lovely, legendary Dee Wallace (The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Cujo, The Frighteners, etc.) plays Mrs. Brown, trying to survive the alien onslaught w/ her husband and kids. M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple) is the sheriff, and a young, pony-tailed (!!) Billy Zane (Dead Calm, Memory) is the ill-fated boyfriend of the Brown's teenage daughter. CRITTERS is a fun, semi-scary movie w/ cute lil' fur-balls that have huge mouths full of razor-sharp, flesh-ripping teeth! Enjoy...
