Movie Reviews of Creepshow [Blu-ray]Movie Review: An Anthology masterpiece! Summary: 5 Stars
One night, an angry father (Tom Atkins) notices his son (Joe King) has been reading a violent horror comic called "Creepshow" and throws away in the trash. It all leads up to five scary stories such as "Father's Day" which tells of a former rich old man back from the grave to get his Father's Day cake that he wanted, next is "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrell" deals with a goofy farmer (Stephen King) who discovers a meteroite that oozes a substance all over him and his farm to grow grass everywhere even on himself. Followed by "Something to Tide You Over" has a crazy rich man named Richard (Leslie Nielsen) who buries a man (Ted Danson) and his lover (Gaylen Ross) up to their necks in sand at the beach to torture them until they come back for vengence. A nagged Professor (Hal Halbrook) who has an annoying wife (Andrienne Barbeau) finds an old crate in the local college containing an old yet still living snow monster and finally a millionair (EG Marshall) is under attack in his apartment by vicious cockroaches.
Excellent horror comedy anthology of horror stories inspired by those classic EC horror comics of the 50's, director George A. Romero and writer Stephen King have crafted a very original anthology of horror stories that have a dark sense of humor and excellent make-up effects by Tom Savini. It became a cult favorite over the years and even has an animated comic book feel with animated in-between frames and segments before the stories start and an all-star cast makes this a pure winner.
This Blu-Ray is average with picture and sound with only one extra which is the trailer, i wish that they would release a R1 special edition.
