Movie Reviews of Cowboy Bebop - The MovieMovie Review: 3,2,1 Lets Jam! Summary: 5 Stars
Being a huge fan of the anime series Cowboy Bebop, I anxiously awaited the theaters and dates that the movie would play in. I was so excited when I learned it would come to a theater only an hour from where I live that I couldnt concentrate on anything else. Finally the day arrived, and a friend and I made the trip to the 10:30 p.m. show. To my great enjoyment the movie delivered everything I had hoped. The music from beginning to end is exactly what you would expect from 'Bebop, but does tend to fade completely into the background from time to time. Action is terrific and spread well throughout. Some reviewers mentioned that the movie dragged and gets bogged down in places, but I did not find this so. I thought the breaks in the action and characters running around helped to move the story along and give a better feel for some of the characters that are not featured in the regular series. I especially thought the jail scene helped give more depth to Jet than seen before. By the way, the scene with Ein wearing the pumpkin head is not to be missed. My only complaint is that the end comes on a bit too fast, like it was rushed to just end. Other than that, a perfect 5. If the opportunity presents itself, definetly see this film on the big screen. It is worth every cent!
Movie Review: Some just don't get it... Summary: 5 Stars
{Firstly and foremost I must comment on the review saying that the rock music included in the movie was not supposed to be in the film. Uh, yeah it was...} I own the Japanese DVD and the series, and believe me, this is the best of the whole series. Also, the movie is not a new ending as some may think...It is intended to take place between episodes twenty-two and twenty-three (Cowboy Funk and Brain Scratch). Anywho, for fans of the show this is a must. For fans of anime as a whole this is also a must. For fans of action movies, well, you need to see this movie. The animation is spectacular, and the music is riviting. Another comment concerning the reviewer stating that the music sucked, that is not a reason to give it a two out of five stars (and the music does not suck, mind you). Oh, and if you favor the japanese language track, I am pretty certain that the DVD will include it. So in conclusion, this is one of the greatest animated features ever (and to me this is better than the series). PS- The fight scenes are some of the best ever. Spike jabs and kicks with style. And for those who like Faye (as a heroine or as eye candy) you will get what you always wanted (fan service or a good subplot). Be sure not to miss out on this one!
Movie Review: An Awesome Anime! Summary: 5 Stars
CB: The Movie actually plays out like an extended episode of the series. In fact, It takes place between episodes 22 and 23. The best thing about it is it's great plot, which is wholly follow-able, unlike the anime series which got confusing at some times. This is good for a one-timer, that is, you don't have to know the series to like the movie. Almost none of the overlying series story-arc is mentioned in the movie, making it an excellent door-way to the anime series for non-fans to become genuine lovers of all things Bebop. As mentioned, the fight scenes do beat the Matrix, and most other "mainstream" movies in the US. Blood flows freely and the characters infrequently use profanity, and a flash (pun intended) of blurry nudity makes it worthy of it's R rating, so it's not for the kiddies. Also don't forget the fact that Spike has a Marlboro in mouth about 40% of the movie. In conclusion, for the want-to-be fan, open up the Bebop world with this awesome movie. Don't worry about spoiling the series--it doesn't. Rent it or buy it (preferably buy it, you'll want to watch it again and again). For present Bebop fans, why are you reading this? You already have it. Go watch it. Now!

Movie Review: Great addition to any Bebop collection. Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is good whether you are a Cowboy Bebop follower or not. Cowboy Bebop is one of the "better" anime ever created. In fact, it's a timeless classic that still have animation that is way above almost anything these days. The first 15 minutes or so is kind of slow, but it picks up pretty fast after that. I guess from the perspective of someone who enjoyed the series, it comes off a bit dissapointing. It doesn't adds much to what's already been told in the sessions. Except it's another "important" mission with a big bounty. It is interesting that all the big bounties always gets away from them and they're stuck with small petty bounties. I was hoping this movie would explore Spike's story. Better yet a continuation after the conclusion of Session 26. There were way too many holes open in the last few sessions, perhaps that's the intention of the creators.
I would recommend this and the series to anyone who is interested in Anime. There is a lot of violence and some would say not enough nudity LOL. Actually I don't remember any nudity at all, in the movie or the series.
