Movie Reviews of Corvette SummerMovie Review: IT'S NOT JUST A CAR ! Summary: 5 Stars
What would you do if something you put all your time and hard work into was suddenly gone? For Ken Dantley played by (Mark Hamill) he's about to do everything he possibly can to find his beloved Corvette.
It's not just a car! The DVD release of "Corvette Summer" has finally replaced my old worn out VHS copy taped from television. Kudos' to Warner Home Video for finally releasing this classic 70's car movie on DVD. It's a barebones release as far as DVD's go, but I'll take it just the way it is. The video transfer is really nice and the sound is really good. It's too bad the sound wasn't remastered in 5.1 Dolby Digital given its awesome soundtrack.
No matter how many times I see this movie, I still find it very entertaining and fun to watch. The story is ok and the interaction between Mark Hamill and Annie Potts characters is always hilarious no matter how many times I see it. I have to admit; watching Annie Potts play the part of a skinny wannabe hooker is completely outrageous and pretty hilarious. In the end this movie is really all about the car and what a car it is!

Movie Review: Corvette Summer (DVD) Summary: 5 Stars
WOW, it's finally here!
I actually never thought I'd see this one on DVD, a true classic. It's strange to see Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) chasing after Corvettes, but this is 1978, and He apparently had some time between Star Wars films. Another interesting fact, the actor that portrayed the car thief, Kim Milford, also starred in the film "Laserblast" that same year. He seems to have a resemblance to Mark Hamill in a weird sort of way. Corvette Summer, a Fun movie if anything. The Car is nice, but Annie Potts is the real star here.
Movie Review: So my mom shows me this movie... Summary: 5 Stars
And I have to tell you, she started the movie, then forgot exactly what happened after Kenny goes to Las Vegas and meets the girl, and kept fast forwarding over parts until it didn't make any sense, but I got what was going on anyway. She finally let me watch the whole thing and it was so funny!!! Some of these old movies actually have a plot, which is cool. I think Mark Hamill from Star Wars showed that he had a lot of talent, because this part was nothing like his Star Wars character. Hard to believe these people are like 30 years older now.
Movie Review: One of my favorite coming of age movies Summary: 5 Stars
I remember this movie well. First saw it on HBO in 1979 and it is one of my favorite coming of age movies. The Custom Corvette used in the film has been bashed by Corvette fans since this movie came out and with good reason, it is utterly hideous. Annie Potts is simply beautiful in this movie and although this was supposed to be Mark Hamil's post Star Wars debut, Potts, then an unknown, steals the movie. Our generation ( I was born in 65) will love this movie. Younger people will be puzzled by it.
Movie Review: Next Stop Van Nuys Blvd!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been waiting for this movie to come out on DVD FOR-EVER! This is the REAL Boogie Nights! One of the ultimate 70s pop culture films without a doubt and a unique twist on a classic coming of age story. It's still a heck of a lot of fun. I actually didn't see it until several years after Star Wars came out, but Mark Hamill IS Kenny--I mean he may not be the greatest actor in the world but he pulls off a great performance with this movie.
