Movie Reviews of Coogan's BluffMovie Review: A bumbling pre-Dirty Harry Summary: 5 Stars
Coogan's search and apprehension of the miscreant Ringerman (Don Stroud) from Arizona to New York City is at times comical. Deputy Sheriff Coogan seems to have little scruples doing his job; lacks finesse, patience, social graces and is a bit misogynistic. But then again he is "rough around the edges" - and I do mean rough. He treats his prisoner (Ringerman) and any "accessory" like a disgruntled UPS package handler.
Susan Clark as Julie Roth tries to even out those rough edges, but to no avail. Coogan gets his man, but not after leaving New York like "Jaws" left Quint's boat in the final act of that movie. Okay, maybe not that bad. Don Stroud did a great job as the fugitive scumbag, Ringerman.

Coogan's Bluff DVD
Clint Eastwood stars as an Arizona deputy sheriff sent to New York City to extradite a prisoner back to Arizona to stand trial. Of course he's successful in the end, when is he not?
The interesting thing about Eastwood is the number of lesser known actors and actresses that he carries from one of his movies to another. Is this Eastwood or just chance?
Highly recommended for fans of Clint Eastwood. This movie will give you a good look at "early Eastwood". It was made in 1968, forty years ago.

Movie Review: A movie which became the TV series "McCloud" Summary: 5 Stars
Clint Eastwood is Coogan. A Lawman from Arizona who goes to New York City to pick up a prisoner. Upon arriving everyone thinks he comes from Oklahoma or Texas(He wears Western clothes).
While taking the prisoner back to Arizona he looses him in the concrete canyons of New York City and tries every way to find him with or without the help of New York's finest. but gets his man in the end.
This film later became the basis of the 1970's classic television series "McCloud" which starred Dennis Weaver as a Western type lawman in the city of New York.
Movie Review: Great Movie! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie showcases Eastwood's progression from the Spaghetti westerns of the 1960's to Dirty Harry in the 1970's. Eastwood is the classic, un-politically correct (very refreshing) anti-hippie hero in this movie. Great action and great one liners ("You better drop that blade, or you won't believe what happens next, even while it's happening).
Movie Review: EASTWOOD WINS AGAIN Summary: 5 Stars
I NEVER CEASE TO BE AMAZED AT THE FLEXIBILITY OF EASTWOOD'S ACTING. HE AND CHARLES BRONSON ARE TRULY GREAT ACTORS.
