Movie Reviews of Confessions of a Teenage Drama QueenMovie Review: This former drama queen loves this sweet & adorable movie! Summary: 4 StarsSince plot has been fairly well covered here, I'll just get right to it. Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is a fun movie, perfect for girl's night for pre-teen girls, teenage girls and all of us who used to be one of them. I don't recommend this for guys at all. I just don't think they will appreciate it the way women young & old alike will. If you enjoyed Mean Girls, you will definitely love Lindsay Lohan in Confessions. Be forewarned that this is a Disney movie so you know the ending will be nice & tidy, but if you're in the mood for a sweet, girlie movie that ends happily, this one's for you. Highly enjoyable for multiple viewings too. Definitely recommended!
Movie Review: A Superficial Film to Brainwash Girls with Ideas of False Glamour Summary: 1 StarsI have never seen such an appalling and phony film as this monstrosity. Not only does it demonstrate Hollywood's proclamation of the need to be `cool' and popular, but it also contains atrocious and pointless plots and concepts depicting inane (No, that is NOT a spelling mistake) situations that distract girls from what is really important.
This superficial movie is about a teenage girl (Lola) who moves with her mother and sisters from New York to New Jersey. Despite this `unfair' relocation, Lola is determined to become a famous star. Lola will face big, bad scary popular girls at school, the breakup of her favorite band (I guess she likes to buy Aspirin), and the difficulty of getting her and her friend's mothers to believe their lies, and all just to become a famous fakey-fakey actress!
Does anyone really care if a selfish teenager moves with her family and is oh so distressed because she can't see the Empire State building out of her bedroom window? Is it so terrible if an idiotic and useless band breaks up? And when in the history, present and future of the world do a girl and boy become girlfriend and boyfriend just because a camera has a shot of his backside?
Does Hollywood stoop so low these days as to deface parents and make them seem unimportant and tyrannical slaves to the stuck up generation of the modern age? I am so sorry that I gave twenty-five dollars to an actress who consented to star in a film that defaces the life-givers of my generation and encourages children to steal and lie to their parents (because `That's what fifteen-year-olds are supposed to do!'), and I hope no one makes the same mistake as I did.
And by the way, I'll be thirteen in June.
Movie Review: Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen Summary: 5 Stars"It" Girl Lindsay Lohan is known for her younger years in the Walt Disney movies The Parent Trap, Life-Size, and Get A Clue. Then in 2003 Lindsay shined in the remake Freaky Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis. Lindsay won Break Out Female when she hosted the 2004 MTV Movie Awards. This is such a cute teen/girl movie about a girl that is dramatic. With her mean girl enemy Carla who doubts every word out of Mary/Lola's mouth. She over comes and proves to be a real cool and fun girl. The Dvd also features behind the scenes, previews and the debut music video "Drama Queen (That Girl)" featured on the soundtrack also with three other Lindsay song's. So I highly reccommend this dvd because you will laugh and maybe cry. It is so fun and Lindsay is such a great actress. Be sure and check out Lindsay's other dvd's The Parent Trap, Life-Size, Get A Clue, Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Herbie Fully Loaded. Also her new movie's in theaters this year whcih inclued the highly anticipated Just My Luck, Bobby, and A Prarie Home Companion.
Movie Review: Not as Good... Summary: 1 StarsAfter I saw this movie, I was so disappointed! This movie does not even make sense and does not have a real plot. I know Lola's suppose to be a drama queen, but it went over the line and the movie became cheesy. Lindsay Lohan's 'Mean Girls' was much better then this crappy film. I cannot believe anyone even liked it after seeing it! The events are just wack and don't even relate to each other whatsoever!
Movie Review: just plain bad--faceless and boring; doesn't even have camp value Summary: 1 Stars"Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" is every bit as bad as its title; it's so bad that it makes it much easier for me to understand why the subsequent and somewhat similar "Mean Girls" has been raved about so much. Granted, "Mean Girls" is hardly great, or even all that GOOD, but it sure is way better than this faceless bore of a movie. "Confessions..." is painfully unfunny, with attempts at whimsical humor, including beamed-in cartoon segments, being utterly lame-brained and forced time and time again. The soundtrack is also horrendous (although I suppose that's rather fitting), and there's no compelling drama--in other words, there's nothing to make you give a damn about the movie. Lindsay Lohan's song-and-dance routine near the end will have you begging for mercy, not that you weren't already. This is a movie that's an utter headache to sit through--I presume it's aimed at some kind of audience, but it scares me to think just who that audience might be. If for some reason you've got a craving for a Lindsay Lohan movie, you're unquestionably better off with "Mean Girls" which is at least decent. As for "Confessions...", simply avoid this dreck.
