Movie Reviews of Colors

Movie Review: Great movie about teamwork!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a neat movie about teamwork. There are two police officers played by Shawn Pen and Bob Duvall. They live in California in fairly average homes. The cost of living is high there, so if they were on the same salary in Nebraska, their houses would be bigger. They spend the whole movie at war with these two groups of kid. One group dresses in blue and the other dresses in red. They are called the Crips(for crippled, I'm assuming?) and the bloods(Blood is red). They show great teamwork and recruiting ability in getting kids to join their club. I don't really like their club much. I was a cub scout and we did things like go camping and chase raccoons with bows and arrows. This club was like the cub scouts, but instead of camping, they sold drugs and shot people. I don't want my kid in this club.

I'm not going to give away the ending, but I will give away a little of my hungry man chicken dinner if you ask nicely. They give you three very generous pieces of chicken, potatoes, corn and a brownie. I just can't eat the whole thing. Just write me a letter if you want some of my chicken, I'll send you a piece. Hungry Man is better than average, in the race of my life, average blew an engine on lap 15 and never came back to race.

Movie Review: Tight Ass Cop Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

The movie Colors is much more brutal & realistic than Boyz In Tha Hood, Menace II Society or New Jack City, its kind of like a documentary of hardcore street life in Southern Los Angeles from notorious street gangs such as 18th Street Posse, Florencia 13's, Latin Kings, MS13's, Grape Street Crips & Piru Street Bloods. But the movie is based on what the Cops go through their daily lifes through rough Barrios / Projects of Watts, Lynwood & South Central Los Angeles, CA. Colors also shows the brutal mentallity of how Cops deal with young blacks & latinos of the streets of Los Angeles, CA. Colors is both Dramatic & a Thrilling film, don't care who you are, good flick! Also! Ice-T debuts his hit song Colors on this movie, too!

Movie Review: Colors
Summary: 5 Stars

A confident young cop is shown the ropes by a veteran partner in the dangerous gang-controlled barrios of L.A. about to explode in violence in this look at the gang culture enforced by the colors that members wear. This movie is an intense, powerful movie that takes you to the streets in an extremely realistic way. "Colors" has many different plot levels that all come together very nicely. Sean Penn and Robert Duvall are right on the mark as the two officers on the beat. Dennis Hopper did an excellent job in directing this movie. If you like gripping action/dramas about police vs. the war on crime, then "Colors" is for you. It's not for everyone. A solid crime thriller.

Movie Review: One of the best gangster flicks ever.
Summary: 5 Stars

If you didn't know it, Colors is one of the reasons why Crips & Bloods are so wide spread on the east coast. I rank it as one of the most realistic films about gang life on the west coast. The contrast between the police officers and the gangsters is a strong one. The police are shown to be a gang of their own. The movie centers on two police officers in the pd gang unit, trying to survive, make a change and get along with eachother. Colors is a must see, and if you're a crime movie buff, this film belongs in your collection. It's heaps better than Blood In, Blood Out, and focuses more on the human side of street thugs and police officers. 5 stars, nothing less!

Movie Review: The Alpha and the Omega!
Summary: 5 Stars

A veteran in this hard job Robert Duvall, incarnates the wisdom experience, and a young man Sean Penn will be training in this underworld through the hidden face of L.A.
Though the script suffers a little bit of fallling in common places the formule engages the viewer. Duvall and the excellent camera work of Dennis Hopper. Maria Conchita Alonso makes an interesting performance in a little role. Penn as always splendid but Duvall stole the show. In certain way, he holds the sixty per cent of the film.
To my mind this is the second major work of Dennis Hopper after Easy Rider.
