Movie Review: Unbelievable disc
Summary: 5 Stars
This DVD is fantastic. The amount of work that has been put into converting all of these "rock" songs onto paper for each instrument to play is huge. The sound is great, but the performances are truly outstanding. The students really make it look easy, but the logistics had to be a nightmare. I recommend to buy this to support "Music in our Schools" as all of these kids are in high school!!Movie Review: Endlessly moving.

Hate to be melodramatic about this piece of art, but I felt, even if fleeting, the capacity of the human spirit. Well, that's what music is all about in the end, isn't it?? A welcoming island of tranquility in our current sea of hatred, violence, apathy and ignorance. Well done Collective Soul, well done young musicians, well done.... some hope for us after all???

This DVD from Collective Soul is great! What an wonderful opportunity for the teenagers in the orchestra to play with Collective Soul. I have met Ed, the lead singer, and he is just as cool as he appears. He is very humble. He is a positive role model for others. How cool is it that they are all clean and sober! Wow! I've been waiting so long for this release, and it does not disappoint. The way the band sounds with the orchestra is like how a glove fits a hand. "Crown" was a very touching moment in the show. The "Behind the Scenes" segement was cool. It gives you the kids' perspective of playing with the band and their opinion of it. It was only fitting for CS to do a concert like this. Their songs, for the most part, lend themselves to orchestration. Ed Roland is a genius writer and it shows well in this DVD.CS has been around for about 14 years now; an eternity in the music industry these days. Kudos to "The Soul Machine" for making this DVD as comprehensive and fun as it is!
