Movie Review: Janine, Illinois, Collective Soul fan

Any long-time Collective Soul fan will greatly enjoy this DVD. Ed Roland and the rest of Collective Soul have collaborated with the Atlantic Symphony Youth Orchestra in creating a memorable music experience that is warm and moving with Ed's deliverance of all of Collective Soul's classics over the years and some special performances of their new hits with their recent CD "Youth". Having been a Collective Soul fan since first hearing "Shine" years ago, I enjoyed watching this great original rock group still play to the audience's content with such class and grace. This DVD is a winner in any home DVD collection. Ed is very enjoyable to watch and is a true artist.Movie Review: Brilliant Show!

I also had the chance to watch some (about 7 songs) of this concert on DirectTV and it was excellent! I wanted to purchase the DVD immediately, but I knew it would be a while before being released for sale.
I must admit that, when I learned a few weeks ago that this DVD was going to be released, I was somewhat skeptical about the symphony accompanying the band. I guess it was because I really disliked the Metallica-with-symphony concert. But I tell you, Collective Soul with the symphony was brilliant! I get goose bumps from just thinking about it. And it makes it much cooler to see that the members of the symphony are kids!
I can't wait!
Movie Review: I was there

I was one of the few that saw this concert. The concert consisted of 2 consecutive nights, which I attended the last. It was very obvious that the band and the Orchestra were having a lot of fun. The band and the Orchestra fused together beautifully. There were only 1 or 2 songs that I wish they played, but that is dismissable considering how incredible this concert was. Collective Soul puts on one of the best live shows I have ever seen (I do concert security for various bands now and then, so I've seen a good number of bands.) Do yourself a favor and get the DVD and the CD. You will not regret it.Movie Review: Sublime

I live outside the U.S., so I don't have the chance to see CS performing live frequently. However, I had the chance five years ago and it was one of the greatest musical experiences in my life. The emotion that Ed Roland and the band gave on stage are very contagious and the songs are simply masterpieces.
For this reason, when I saw that they were going to release a Live DVD with an Orchestra, I knew that I had to buy it. I just wanted to experience again what I felt when I saw them in January, 2001; and I received much more than that.
This DVD is, in one word, sublime.
Movie Review: Great concert DVD by Collective Soul

This DVD is a great production. The sound is amazing and the visuals are nicely done. It's also nice to have a concert DVD where the director hasn't gone crazy with rapid-fire camera changes and effects. Collective Soul are a great band that have a big catalogue of songs. This DVD showcases all their hits accompanied by an orchestra. The orchestra fits in very nicely with the band without overpowering any of the tunes so that what you get is a real Collective Soul concert plus strings. This is essential viewing for Collective Soul fans and definitely worth checking out for fans of good music.
