Movie Review: Wonderful!!!!!!!

I also got to see this concert on Free View. Collective Soul and Atlanta Youth Symphony together was amazing! CS beniffited from the fullness of a full orchestra and those wondreful musicians in AYS!!! After watching this concert, I found a renewed love of CS. And even if you do not have much history with Collective Soul, you WILL appreciate the energy and enthusiasm of these artists!As well as the amazing job they do; Writing, singing and preforming. It is just too bad that Collective Soul can't tour with a full 100+ orchestra, so that we can all appreciate their dynamics!! Instead of just on DVD...

Now that I have the DVD, I love this concert even more! About two or three songs that are on this DVD were not originally aired on FreeView. And there is some neat bonus stuff, like; Behind the seens for the week before the two nights of shows. A making of "Better Now", and a few more goodies. This DVD is a must have for a Collective Soul fan.
Movie Review: Incomparable concert

Collective Soul's Home is a great concert that stands out among rock-groups-with-orchestra performances. Because of the basic nature of CS's music, it's very versatile. The arrangements written for the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra are simply perfect. They don't just accent CS's music, they practically complete it. Every instrument melds seamlessly with CS, and even the band's parts were modified in order to fit better. Some outstanding examples of this are Pretty Donna (just orchestra), Youth (Ed Roland on guitar and a cellist), and Crown (Roland's vocals and just orchestra).
Simply put, this concert shows how orchestral rock concerts are done. Anyone that gives it a shot will see just how well composed it is. I really think this is one of the few concerts that anyone can enjoy, young or old, hardcore or easy listening. It renewed my love of Collective Soul, and I think it could make some new converts as well.
Movie Review: Rock Concert Library? A MUST!!

I was fortunate enough to find out ahead of time and see this concert. As a big Collective Soul fan, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see them with a symphony. THIS IS A GREAT CONCERT!!! I am not normally big on concerts on video, though I have several friends who do. I've seen most of theirs and they just don't compare. Collective Soul has great music and with these AMAZINGLY talented kids their music SOARS! The songs have such an added dynamic feel to them. THE ENERGY WITH THE ROCK and then the beauty with the ballads.....It's just so much MORE! The crowd feeding off of the energy and sending waves of it back! The behind the scenes with these wonderfully talented kids and the guys mingling and working together. This is definitely one NOT to pass up. Check it out and do yourself a favor and get the CD as well to blast out in your car! ;o)Movie Review: Whew! Nice........

This thing just is a marvelous piece of work. Period. I'll save the musicology study & superlatives. I was amazed! Pleased.
Having grown up playing in orchaestra's & later in jazz/lab bands, I truly enjoyed the special features with the kids in the Atlanta Youth Symphony. You just know this was the time of thier life! Something they will always look back on with pride and cherish.
Had tastes of that when we won band competitions & music festivals 20 + yrs ago. I know I cherish those memories.
But to be on & in a DVD with a band of the CLASS & Quality of Collective Soul? That was this well done? Shiver!
Something tells me Will Turpin was a "band geek" too, he seemed to work so well with the kids.

YOU WILL LOVE
I am a HUGE Collective Soul fan & as I watched this DVD of C.S. playing with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra in sheer delight, I found myself overcome with an abundance of emotion! I loved watching EVERY second of the amazing connection C.S. had with the orchestra. It feels almost as if you are there if you crank it up! The colors are vibrant & the editing is wonderful. This has to be one of the BEST concert DVD's if not the BEST I've seen. After you watch this, if you aren't a Collective Soul fan already, you WILL be!!! You will want to sing & dance from this incredible performance!
