Movie Review: Quickest Solution I have found!
Summary: 5 Stars
For context, I am a long time computer user (professional). I read 350 pages (of 550) from a book (won't say which) that I thought would teach me, but I still couldn't do basic editing with ease (it was all mushed together in my brain, perhaps because I read the book so quickly), and still barely understood the deeper functionalities. In frustration, I purchased this DVD, and to put it simply, it is fantastic. It is clear, thorough, well thought out, logical, and above all, had me finally producing in Final Cut Express HD. It made it fun, and somehow magically made it all click. I would say it covers all the basic functions, but does not get too deep. What it does do is teach you the concepts by showing you one, and implying you can do the same for other similar needs. For example, "here is how to do apply, copy, and remove a 'Sepia' filter, and notice all the other filters that work similarly". I would rate this an A. The only reason I would not give it an A+ is I want even more details than the 14 chapters go into. Perhaps now I can go back to the book I started, and be able to absorb it, and finally finish it. A Part two "Advanced Features" would be an ideal companion. Tom is a master at training. Period.
