Movie Reviews of Clash of the Titans (Snap Case)

Movie Review: Possibly the best action fantasy film of the 70's!!
Summary: 5 Stars

GREAT MOVIE!!
Harryhausen is a genius, the movie is full of action, special effects, monsters, good acting and many exciting adventure sequences. Simbad (1958), Jason and the Argonauts and this one are the COOLEST action packed fantasy films by Harryhausen. I don't blame anyone if they don't like Harryhausen's animations because they look like clay, but they got to understand that theses animations opened the door to the special effects that we are used to now. I also love the movie Circle of Iron and Hobbit, witch are ones of the few but great fantasy films of the 70's.

P.S: I said that this movie was made in the 70's because it was made in 1979. The movie had to be released in theathers two years latter (1981) because the production actually started in 1976 but it was delayed by the release of Simbad and the Eyes of the Tiger in 1977.

Adios.

Movie Review: The Original is ALWAYS the Best!
Summary: 5 Stars

I took my grandson to see the new "Clash of the Titans" at the theater a couple of months ago and he really enjoyed it. He was especially intrigued with the Medusa. Afterwards, I told him of the original movie that came out in 1981 and that if he thought this Medusa was scary he should see the first one. That prompted a bunch of questions, like, "Do you have the original movie?" and I said no, which prompted me to order this DVD so we could sit down and watch it together. Although the stop-motion animation was high tech for its day and seems outmoded in this era of computer animation, he really enjoyed the movie and thought it was better in many ways than the newer one we had just seen a week before! This has always been one of my favorite cult flicks, and a new generation has been turned on to it because of this DVD.

Movie Review: Those who cringe at nudity must seek psychological help now
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, this film is just fine, a great relic of it's era in special effects and fantasy films.

Second, do the people claiming this film has gratuitious and extensive 'nudity' understand what a PG film means?? PG means PARENTAL GUIDANCE - which means there may be stuff that your kids may need you around for, or you may want to edit. How could you possibly be surprised by a little very tame very innocent nudity? Do you not read the ratings info, if you are that obsessed with the human body?? That said, I cannot stress enough how completely innocent and barely there the 'nudity' is. You'd have to be a total pervert to even notice or have a reaction to it. I pity the poor 9 year old who was supposedly 'shocked' by this film - the child's parents have probably warped that poor child's mind to abhor his or her own body.

Movie Review: The Dog is Dioskilos! Not Cerberus!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just watched this film aired on broadcast television. It had been one of my favorite films in grade school so I was glad to have caught the movie from the begining. It's a great movie to watch with your family as it has something for everyone. Sure there's a little blood and lots of people die but if you know your kids have seen worse. Or at least will eventually. ^_^

There are flaws but as long as you can't take the movie seriously. Just sit back enjoy it. It's also nice to see a very prestigious cast have fun with the melodrama of their roles. fans of the Harry Potty film will enjoy looking back at Maggie Smith as the almost villainous sea goddess.

(Oh and by the way, the two headed dog is named Dioskilos not Cerberus. It's funny how the credits list the special effect monsters!)

Movie Review: Beats the latest one!
Summary: 5 Stars

An outstanding film made by Desmond Davis in 1981. The latest may be in 3D and fully decorated by computer graphics but the narration in this film is attractive and Laurence Olivier as Zeus makes this presentation an unforgettable one.I strongly recommend this fantasy classic. Ursula Andress is Aphrodite. Maggie Smith is Thetis. Harry Hamlin is Perseus. Burgess Meredith is Ammon and the beautiful Judi Bowker is Andromeda. The clash between Kraken and Medusa is awesome. Above all, Herbert Spencer's direction of Laurence Rosenthal's score of the film with the London Symphony players is simply magnificent particularly the Pegasus theme and the love theme of Perseus and Andromeda. A sure winner.
