Movie Reviews of Cirque du Soleil - QuidamMovie Review: Something to knock your socks off. Summary: 5 Stars
I have seen 2 Cirque du Soleil shows live, and video does not do Cirque du Soleil justice. There is so much to see in the real show that you feel much more part of the show as the action is going on around you. There is so much to see in the live show that you walk out of the show barely remembering half of what you saw, but knowing that it was all spectacular and unbelievable. Because of the nature of the show, seeing it on DVD is a far cry from watching it live, but it is still worth the price of the DVD. Even watching the DVD will cause your jaw to drop to the floor. Well worth the money and you can watch it over and over to remember how spectacular it all is. The DVD does seem to leave out parts of the show, but I think it is mainly the clowns, and they do some things that would spoil the live show for you if you saw it on video first.
Movie Review: Reality moves out Summary: 5 Stars
Reality moves out of your home when Quidam moves in. A world of fantasy, a fantastic world. A little girl, Zoe, who is bored and is treated almost indifferently by her own parents, is taken a world of magic and beauty when the headless, faceless Quidam arrives literally at her door. This show is about the beauty of man and woman, our strengths and our sorrows, our dreams, passions, and even our fears. This show is spectacular. This is the first I have seen of the Cirque du Soleil, and it won't be the last. The impression it made on me pulls me to see the show live in Europe. If you haven't seen the Cirque du Soleil or even heard of them before. You can't go wrong with Quidam. It is an artistic collage of acrobatics, dance, and drama set to excellent music in a fresh way like I, and perhaps the world has ever known.

Movie Review: The Greatest Show on Earth Summary: 5 Stars
Cirque du Soleil's production of "Quidam" is the most spectacular stage show that I have ever seen. There are moments that literally take your breath away as the cast seem to defy gravity with outstanding acts of strength and balance.
"Quidam" is so much more than a circus act. It is a grand show that is part musical, part dance show and part magic. The end result, however, is even more than the sum of the parts. If one were to try to list the highlights of the show, one would have great difficulty. Each component is magnificent in its own right.
The cast is drawn from all over the world yet the performance speaks just one language. Fantastic and compelling! The search for superlatives is a task in itself.

Movie Review: Eminently entertaining Summary: 5 Stars
After watching "Varekai," "Dralion," "Alegria," "Journey of Man" and other DVDs, I can safely say this is my favorite Cirque du Soleil show. Anyone familiar with Cirque du Soleil's training camp show on TV's Bravo knows there is a similarity to most of their shows, so details and subtle differences are important when distinguishing among them. With "Quidam," the music is perfect for the show, the performances are exceptional, the costumes are brilliant and the plot is the most delightful. I've seen this live once and liked it so much I might go back. I cannot find much about the DVD to criticize either because it is filmed very adroitly, the picture and sound quality are outstanding and it is presented in anamorphic widescreen. Suitable for all ages.
