Movie Review: Baroque at its best

For early music enthusiasts, this is a gem to have. We have the best of both worlds here in two of the greatest interpreters of Baroque Music in the *Gabrielli Consort & Players/ Paul McCreesh and **The English Consort & Choir/ Trevor Pinnock. It was filmed in the magnificent Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Rome and consists of works by: **Vivaldi, *Palestrina, **Corelli, *Josquin des Pres, *Frescobaldi, **Alessandro Scarlatti, *G.F. Anerio, *Victoria and *Carissimi. There are 102 glorious minutes of sharp and vivid DTS sound and the images are impressive. If you are serious about early music and original instruments, this is the DVD for you.
