Movie Review: Makes Me Smile

I bought the 'Yule Log' video a couple of years ago and play it every year on Christmas Eve. But this year we will be replacing with this video which delivers much more value and for a few dollars less than we spent on the Yule Log. Unlike many of these 'special interest' videos, this one runs for a full 90 minutes and the scenes rarely repeat (when they do, it's because they are edited into different contexts with different music). But best of all, Xmas in NY not only makes me smile, but every time you look at the screen, there's a different scene to look at; from skaters in a snowy Central Park to sparkling trees on Park Ave.. Almost makes me want to live there!Movie Review: A Delight

Well worth the money. Transports the viewer into a wonderland of Christmas. From the opening with the metallic flags at Rockefeller Center to the Central Park skaters to the miniature trains at, I believe, the Botanical Gardens the DVD can be enjoyed by all ages. Every scene has a Christmas musical background and if you want something to put you in the Christmas mood, buy it. I would have liked more "people in the street" scenes and a little less of the Stock Exchange, but the DVD is fine as it is. If you are looking for Radio City interior, look elsewhere -- however, you will see the Radio City sign and the wooden soldiers on the marquee.Movie Review: The Christmas Lights of Manhattan

I have been to Manhattan, many times and for the last few years I have made my trip on or around Thanksgiving time.Watching Christmas in New York,brings back some lovely memories and I am looking forward to my next visit to Manhattan on November the 30th.
I have just booked the Greyline tour bus, which lasts for 48hrs and includes 2 evening tours of the Christmas lights of Manhattan. For anyone who is planning a trip to Manhattan on or around Thanksgiving or Christmas, this dvd is a must. It is also an ideal stocking filler for friends and family and is excellent value for money.
Movie Review: Great Christmas Gift Value!

We've watched this one for two Christmas's running and it still seems as fresh as first viewing. If you need an inexpensive, yet very unusual Christmas gift, this might just be it. The visuals are terrific - ranging from a decorated Wall St. to beautiful scenes of Central Park in the snow. The music is as varied as the visuals and nothing repeats for the full 90 minutes. You might think this'd only of interest to New Yorkers but I don't think any New Yorker could enjoy this video as much as we have!Movie Review: Well Done!

I have never been to New York, and I love the Christmas season, therefore, this is a DVD for me. When I received this DVD, I was not yet ready to watch it, but I installed it only to glance at the video to see the quality of what I had purchased. I ended up watching the entire one and one-half hours of video. It is mezmermizing. It is peacefully done, and worth sharing with family. (I would prefer much less video, or none at all, of the enslaved horses pulling carriages though the city, though.)
