Movie Review: instructional video from a REAL musician

i had this tape many years ago (1991 or 92)and although when i bought it i thought it was an instructional video as how to play like him, his techniques how did he came up with his parts etc, i was very naive then trying to be a "flashy" bassist just as every kid at his early teens, it was kind of a disappointment but because i loved his style so much (i even dressed and used my hair like him) i kept playing the tape and everytime with his simple and direct answers and innovative musicianship i was absorbing much more than mere "techniques" (like two handed tapping, flamenco slaps, plucking the strings with your tongue and make it sound as ten bass gtrs. lol all meaningless stuff if not played from the "heart") you can tell chris was not an avid student of music theory or how to put your fingers in this position and you should practice a mixolydian minor in the seventh pos. but i bet he knows all this intuitively (even though he was at the st. paul's cathedral's choir where he learnt to deal with harmony) but he can create songs that not even a graduate (or doctor) from berklee can think of, his style came up most from his guts to play the damn thing and play like nobody else which he did, this dvd will show you what a real musician is all about, highly recommended (unless you want to be another one from the crowd then you should get any victor wooten, billy sheehan, les claypool etc etc)
