Movie Review: Interesting, but not as good as the books...
Summary: 4 Stars
First of all, Eric Bana was absolutely brilliant... however I felt that overall the film did not do the books justice. A lot of important characters from Mark (aka Chopper)'s life were not even given a look in. I truly believe that Chopper's own life story has the ability to be a masterpiece, but unfortunately this film just was not up to par in my opinion.
However, the film truly immortalized the legend of Chopper, which I'm happy about! (I'm related to him through his mother's side of the family, and no, I don't know him in real life!)
Overall, the film is definately worth seeing, but I believe it could be better. Four and a half stars.

Much like the book, this movie gives you a glimps into the life of Mark "Chopper" Read. I just happened across this moves years & years ago. It was weird then & it's still weird now. It's about this Aussie who went around killing/Beating drug dealers & other bullies, because he thought he was supposed to. This film is also a chance to see Eric Bana before he came to the U.S. & made it big in films like "Black Hawk Down", "Hulk", "Troy", & "the Other Boleyn Girl". It's a good black comedy that will leave you wanting more. I even purchased the first of his books after seeing this. Now that was an interesting read.Movie Review: you may not have liked bana in troy, but you will find out what happens when he is in a good movie

And he seriously makes this movie. I can't believe how grossed out I was by this and still managed to LOVE it. He plays a bob hoskins type role and does it beautifully, in a sick way I guess. Like the last reviewer said, you have to watch it twice. It's not the most linear story so I guarantee you will enjoy it at least twice. The violence is not like the greatest of action but it is the way bana sells it and the overal brutal actions that happens. Highly recommended for people who liek movies on the dark side, btu not too dark for a somewhat general audience to enjoy it.Movie Review: Best Australian movie by far

Ive seen this movie countless times and love it every single time I watch it. So many memorable and entertaining scenes. Hilarious and disturbing all at the same time. The film looks great, stellar perfomances and great pacing. the lose one star just for being bloody Aussies. It doesnt get much better than this film. An absolute Aussie classic. This edition alos comes with some great features inclusing a full commentary with the real Marc Chopper Read, video diaries with the director and Eric Bana meeting the real Chopper before the film went into production.Movie Review: Winge winge winge....are you alright youre bleeding all over the place

Saw this after discovering some of the Australian comedie paradies of Chopper. with particular attention to the the harden the !@#$ up ones. hilarious!!
This movie is way good for the person who doesnt know who Chopper was, Like myself before I had watched it. Eric Bana does a really good job, but dont be expecting Munich or Black Hawk down hahaha sorry Choppa. This movie is low budge but its good I mean its brutal and very sarcastically funny. Kind of similar to maybe Resevior dogs.
Its hard to believe this guys real but he is.
