As a devoted fan of the period piece, I am a sucker for anything filmed in costume. But unless you are a very great fan of Chopin and willing to overlook some VERY bad acting, I would save your money! I honestly threw it away after watching it one time. The characters are completely wooden, the dialog incredibly boring, and the sets, well they look like sets. I have very few requirements when it comes to period movies, but I neither got a feel for the time, got lost in the movie, nor was I able to connect to the characters(probably because the acting was so poor). This is an interesting story, with lots of movie worthy drama and intrigue. However it will be left to someone else to produce a better version.
