Movie Reviews of Chicago - Live by RequestMovie Review: pbru Summary: 5 Stars
Chicago stands out as a true classic band. This DVD starts out a little off but then as good as chicago is they get right into the groove. Listining to this DVD makes you feel like they are playing just for you, it's like having your own personal live concert. I would say watch it on a big screen tv and SRS system and your right there at the concert. If you like Chicago, then you'll love this DVD remember this is a live dvd there are no over-dubs or cover ups so you'll truly see what makes them such a good band. Keith (guitar player) is very good, and much under-rated you can see he plays a good part in Chicago with his vocals and guitar playing.
Movie Review: Hey these guys are Great Summary: 5 Stars
I have seen chicago 4 times live. I always wanted a dvd so i could remember there spectacular performance. Well i finally got it and a lot of people have said this dvd isnt good. Dont listen to them they have no idea what they are talking about. If you are a true Chicago fan you will love all the robert lamn songs, and the horns Crisp sound. Peter who????? they dont even need him.. Bill Champlin, Jason Scheff< and Keith Howland have great vocales and are all very talented at what they do I dont know where the band will be with out that beautiful oregon in the back round. If you dont by this DVD you are missing out on a lot and you arent a fan.
Movie Review: Chicago Never Grows Old Summary: 5 Stars
I have been a fan since their inception, and I am also a drummer for 45 years. Even with the changes in the personnel over the years, the sound is the same and better! The four originals are awesome. Bill Champlin is icing on the cake, Jason sounds so much like Peter Cetera but different. The addition of Keith on guitar and vocals just makes this band that much better. I watched him on the James Brown Live at The House of Blues video and know one of his teachers. His singing is awesome, the band is awesome. It goes to show you that good music never fades away! It always makes me smile!
Movie Review: TO ALL THAT BEMOAN THE DEPARTURE OF CETERA! Summary: 5 Stars
To all of the whiners whose sole complaint is that that Cetera guy isn't there anymore, here is a news flash. Cetera left cause HE wanted to leave, not cause the band asked him to leave. Cetera did EXACTLY what he wanted to do, have a SOLO career. Don't BLAME JASON SCHEFF cause he ISN'T CETERA. I am SICK AND TIRED of hearing and reading how JASON BUTCHERS "PETER'S" songs.
They aren't "PETER'S" songs they are "CHICAGO'S" songs that "PETER" sang. Now thay are "CHICAGO'S" songs that "JASON" sings. And if you don't like my comments guess what "I DON'T CARE!"
Movie Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
I have the dvds the band has released officially, including a very hard to get in the US- the video collection. This dvd stands out for several reasons: interesting tid-bits about Hendrix, how Jimmy first heard 'Make Me Smile' on the radio and his reaction, Robert calling his friends 'a bunch of idiots'... tiemeless.
The music? Sounds great, but the highlight for me: 'You're the Inspiration' done with horns, and feels more up-tempo and better than the original! Even host Mark McEwan proudly proclaiming 'sweet' at the end of the song.
