The #1 rated concert special of the 2002/03 TV Season, with an 11 rating and 16.6 million viewers, was "Cher:The Farewell Tour"
According to the AC Nielsen tv ratings "Cher" was the #1 rated Variety show of the 1974/75 tv season with a 21.3 rating. Overall, "Cher", was the #22 rated show of that season and was tied with "The Streets of San Francisco" (1972-1977) with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas and "The NBC Mystery Movie" (1971-1977) which included the rotating movies "McMillan and Wife" with Rock Hudson and "Columbo" with Peter Falk.
"Cher" was shown against "The Wonderful World of Disney" (1954-1983)which ended the season at #18 with a 22 rating and "The Six Million Dollar Man" (1974-1978) which was not in the TOP 30 that season.
Other Variety shows on that season, that were in the TOP 30 were: "Tony Orlando and Dawn" (1974-1976)#25 with a 20.7 rating and "The Carol Burnett Show" (1967-1978)#29 with a 20.4 rating.
Movie Review: Cher: For the last time a true diva

It's sad that Cher is at the end of her career. When you'll see her on this DVD, you'll see Cher as a sparkling and multi-talented diva. Her voice is so powerful and still beautiful. She starts her show with "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". It's a U2 cover, she really sings it better than U2. And she talks between the songs. "Follow this you b*tches" is one of her famoust verdicts. Between all the costumechanges, there's always something on. I just love her costumes of "Take me Home" and "Strong enough". She looks so good in those outfits. The show ends with "Believe", her biggest hit. The extra's are really good. 3 extra performances and a behind-the-scene and a lot more. What can I say more than this: Cher rocks!! She's still one of the best. I hope she makes another CD or that she plans another tour. But this is "The Farewell Tour", this is really farewell I guess. i may sound like a dork but the cher concert was one of the funnest nights of my life. you have to understand that i am from lubbock, tx one of the most backward cities in the us. for cher to grace this city with her presence is like a gift form god. the concert was the best concert i have ever seen. she truly defines what an entertainer is and should be. the woman is a legend and still looks so good for her age. her songs are classic and to see her perform them live is such a thrill. i think i will buy this dvd when it comes out because i recorded the one off of nbc but i want it commercial free and with nothing bleeped out. for a real concert experience i think everyone should get this dvd also, there is no way possible anyone would come off disappointed. cher is a true diva, a living legend, and the definition of an entertainer. having said that catch her last performance before she disappears.Movie Review: fab farewell

As cher has said, why do artists feel that its best to keep touring until they get to a point where people start saying "he/she is not as good as they used to be?". The best thing to do is to go out on peek form doing the best you can do. I really think cher done that with this farewell. Much energy, glittering costumes, still evidently a great power singing voice and still the trade mark witt.
In my opinion if you like cher, then this is what you want to see. Cher does all different layouts for the show, dancers are really good, the crowd are buzzing and the backing band/singers are excellent.
The extras are good too, 3 extra songs, a video, behind the scenes building up to the concert during a typical day out on the road. An excellent farewell, well thought through and done at the best possible time. Seeing the concert in the flesh is something i will never forget!

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST DVD EVER ,THIS IS SOMETHING THAT YOU WATCH AND WATCH AND BELIEVE ME YOU WONT GET TIRED ,I LOVE THE COSTUME CHANGES THE HAIRSTYLE AND THE GREATEST VOICE I HAD EVER HEARD,THIS IS FOR ALL AGES CAUSE IT WOULD GET YOU UP AND MEN YOU WOULD START DANCING YOUR BUTT OFF ,SHE IS AMAZING I HAD BEEN HER FAN AND IMITATOR FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS SINCE I WAS 6 IM 15 NOW I HAD GONE TO 3 OF HER CONCERTS SHE CAN REALLY GET YOU GOING ,I WAS IN THE TAPING FOR THE FLORIDA CAUSE I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND IT WAS JUST AMAZING I WAS DANCING ,SINGING ,CRYING ,SCREAMING THIS IS A DVD OR VHS YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR WONT REGRET IT I MEAN NOONE CAN COMPARE TO THIS WORLD GREATEST DIVA SO ORDER IT NOW OR YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DONT CAUSE IS ABSOLUTY AMAZING IS OUT OF THIS WORLD !!
