Movie Reviews of Chato's Land

Movie Review: Another Classic by my favorite actor
Summary: 4 Stars

Chatos Land is merely another Death Wish, except, instead of New York, It takes place in a different time, a different environment and instead of punks, it's a posse of Redneck Indian Haters.
Charles Bronson (Chato, an Apache Indian) appears to be running from them, but is merely weakening their strength, spirit, and leading them into a land that is unknown by them as well as Chato.
After his Squaw is raped and his son murdered, Chato goes after them one by one and justice is done. Another great by Bronson!!!

Movie Review: Hunted becomes the hunter
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a western that shows the mob mentality at its worse. The words spoken in this movie have real meaning. This is a serious look into a world of blinded cruel men that meets their fate appropriately.
Bronson prescence makes the stoic half-apache a hunter instead of the hunted seem very real.
Palance plays a ex-civil war officer wrapped in all the glory of the confederate army. The only thing is they lost and his blinders stay on until it's too late.
If you like dark westerns, this is a good one.

Movie Review: surprising complex "old" western
Summary: 4 Stars

If you like stoic Bronsonesque action movies, you will enjoy Chato's Land. There is surprisingly good character development which shows how much trouble you can create by blind hatred combined with arrogance. The movie presents Bronson at his best in great physical condition manipulating the posse obsessed with killing him. The supporting cast is excellent with Richard Basehart, Jack Palance and James Whitmore. This movie is well worth your time and deserves being listed as a Classic Western.

Movie Review: Excellent Western
Summary: 4 Stars

I enjoyed this Western. Bronson does not have much of a speaking role and is the target of the posse played by an excellent cast. Some great landscapes in the film. Only gripe is that the vultures used in the film were not native to North America. They looked like African vultures to me.

Delivered this classic promptly.
Wish we had a remastered HD version of this. One of Bronson's best in my opinion. Lots of action, a reasonable storyline, and great scenery.
