Movie Review: Ace Reporter Saves The Day!
Summary: 5 Stars
This is an interesting comedy about a guy who tries to do the right thing but instead ends up with a lot of evil men out to kill him. He's saved in the end by an ace investigative reporter who uncovers the truth at the last minute so the bad guys can go to jail. It's a short, tight little film that goes straight from start to finish without wasting a lot of our time. It is well directed adn was well worth my time.
Summary of Chasing Trouble (1940) DVD [Remastered Edition]
Jimmy O'Brien (Frankie Darro), flower delivery boy and amateur handwriting expert, means nothing but well. Using his skills to rescue the gorgeous Susie Kerry (Marjorie Reynolds) from loneliness and unemployment, he blithely rushes in where angels fear to tread and unwittingly uncovers a snake's nest of intrigue. His boss, Mr. Lester, is not what he seems to be - neither is the charismatic Fred Morgan, who asks Jimmy to assist him in a tricky undercover operation of national importance. To think that all Jimmy wanted was to get pretty Susie a job and a boyfriend...Star Dispatch reporter Callahan is on the trail of a gang of international saboteurs, and his path is fated to cross Jimmy's as they pursue their individual investigations. The movie has an immensely satisfying ending.
This is a fascinating vintage feature film that combined generous elements of comedy, intrigue and innocent romance to give you an enthralling hour-long movie experience.
