Movie Review: Charley Varrick - a tight and precise film
Summary: 5 Stars
Charley Varrick is a well-played and precise film about the small-time crook who stumbles onto the Mob`s secret money. In the mobs chase of him he starts his cunning plan against them. Walter Matthau is here in a rare dramatic role, which he plays very well. The film is unsentimental and free of too much conversation. It is a film in the spirit the early 70's.Movie Review: Underrated flick

I saw the film when it first came out and have been trying to get a copy for some considerable time. It is a greatly underrated film and apparently not all that well known. Good cast including one of my favourite lady actors - Sheree North.
If you get the chance, watch it.

I was all set to buy this CD when I noticed in the review it was poorly released in full screen. What a waste of an excellent film and one of the few dramas that Mathau starred in. Regrets, I'll pass on this CD.Movie Review: A great drama. Well Written

THis is one of the few dramatic roles I've seen Walter Matthau in, and he was brilliant. Matthau is a small time bank robber who gets in over his head, at least for a time. You'll love the ending. Great movie.Movie Review: Best of Matthau ???

Wonderful movie with great bad guys, even the good guys are bad guys, action, and lots of twist and turns. One of my favorites. This and Hopscoth are a pair to own. Both good "rainy Day" movies.
