Movie Reviews of Changing Lanes

Movie Review: An Unexpectedly AWESOME and INSIGHTFUL Thriller!
Summary: 5 Stars

... I just returned home from what I thought was going to be wasted time seeing yet another Hollywood cinematic disappointment...I am happy to report that I was dead wrong. SEE THIS MOVIE! It rocked my world... took me to places I never expected to be... especially not tonight... made me consider things I never considered before...about life in general...the impact that relationships as major as a husband and wife or as minor as a chance highway accident encounter with a stranger can have on a life... about how every decision each of us makes in our lifetime is a another building block of our moral character. I am not a writer...no words I can write can do this movie justice....all performances, both and lead and minor roles, were strong and impactful. My head is swimming with insight into the human condition and that is soooooooo much more than I bargained for ... So Do yourself a favor and check this one out...it is well worth every cent and then some. Enjoy.

Movie Review: Great story, A1 acting
Summary: 5 Stars

Samuel L. Jackson is a recovering alcoholic who is trying to salvage his family; Ben Affleck is a high-powered attorney trapped in a life of corruption and politics. They meet when their cars collided by accident and this 20 min occurrence turns both their lives upside down. Jackson mistakenly picks up a folder Affleck needs to insure the corrupt attorneys don't get sued for fraud (he's part of it by marriage as well as occupation) and does everything he can to get that folder back. Jackson loses everything and is hell-bent on revenge. To reveal too much more would give away the meat of the story which is steeped in lessons to be learned by all but not fed to us in a patronizing tone. It is a very intense film that shows all too easily how one moment can change a person's life forever. A must-see for drama lovers. The acting is beyond reproach and the cinematographer also gets high praise. This is one helluva story!

Movie Review: addicted to boldness and craftyness
Summary: 5 Stars

Affleck is shocking
Jackson is even more shocking

this is one of those movies that just goes to show you that:

1: you can never get enough revenge without paying for it each time

and
2: when you've done a good deed at the end of your day it goes to show you that we need more good in us then bad

this movie shows us what comes out of us at times. the worst which hopefully we try not to show. and teh best which is really nice to convey.

this is one powerful thriller movie

I could watch this over and over and not get sick of it
the plot is amazing and lures you in

that's what makes this amazing
and the direction and directing just is spell binding

anyone that likes Affleck or Jackson needs to give this movie a shot. I did. got it on dvd. and loved it. and always will

Movie Review: Could Be The Best of 2002!
Summary: 5 Stars

What an excellent film! Roger Michell has crafted a superb film in every respect, from its brilliant acting turns by both Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck in this character-driven story by Michael Tolkin (of "The Player") and Chap Taylor, to its technical aspects, such as cinematography, editing, and score. Rather than merely being a suspenseful chase film with a villain and a hero, the story goes far beyond that formula and makes each character complex; there are no true villains in "Changing Lanes." So much depth and symbolism was given to every aspect of this film to capture the mature audience's mind from beginning to end that I find it pathetic that this film was a sleeper when released in theaters; nowadays, films like "Jackass: The Movie" will probably win the number one weekly-earnings spot. Oh well, I shouldn't get impatient. Great films take time to be appreciated.

Movie Review: Rage, fear, compassion and more!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a very exciting yet sad at times movie that can show how poorly strangers can treat one another. One person's failure to care for another's well being can lead to devastating results. Ben Affleck is a young, enterprising and successful lawyer who hasn't a care for helping out his fellow man after an accident on the highway in busy New York City. Samuel Jackson is a father on his way to divorce court where the future of his children's well being is at stake. These two collide and each suffers dire consequences, yet each needs something from the other. This was a great movie of personal character and I loved Samuel Jackson's performance. He can be so strong in character and demanding that it's so easy to feel his frustration and realism. I wasn't disappointed in this movie and these two actors go at each other with vengeance and greed. It's a great movie!
