Movie Reviews of Central Station

Movie Review: Wow! Excellent Film!
Summary: 5 Stars

As I have noticed with most Brasilian films, the cinematography of this film is unbelievable! Vinicuis de Oliveira, the actor who plays the young boy in this film has more talent than many A list adult stars in America. The movie is about an old angry woman with nothing to live for, who eventually grows a heart when she meets Josue (Vinicuis de Oliveira)and tries to help him locate his father (only living relative) after the death of his mother. I purchased this film on DVD and watch it religiously, whenever I'm in a relaxed mood. IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY... but they are tears of joy. Enjoy!

Movie Review: Moves you to tears
Summary: 5 Stars

I must say this is one of the best movies I ever seen, though it was a long time ago. I am brasilian myself and I lived in Sweden, so I thought of watching a movie from my homeland, and it was so sad that it made me cry from the very first beginning.
But I think it is a good movie because it shows reality, well one view of how it is there.
The actors are great too ;)
And it is the only right that they were nominated for I have never seen such a good movie based on another country other than

the Us.

Movie Review: Mrs. Montenegro Shines
Summary: 5 Stars

We can't write a review about Central Station without focusing in Fernanda Montenegro. After watching this movie I kept thinking how come she lost the Oscar for the cute-but-not-so-talented Gwyneth Paltrow. There are no comparisons... Montenegro's performance as Dora - an old lady that develops a frienship with a boy - is one of the best I've ever seen. But Central Station is more than that. It's a great oportunity for the Americans to discover the emergent Brazilian Cinema.

Movie Review: Masterpiece
Summary: 5 Stars

An emotionally spellbinding masterpiece is what we have here. Everything about this film adds up to give us a film that is beyond your average tear jerker, it is an unforgettable story about what it means to be human. It is about priorities, family and the concsiounce (sorry, I need spellcheck).
Get the plot gist from other reviewers, I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents and let all who care to read how wonderful this film is.

Movie Review: Much better than Life Is Beautyful
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't know much about South American movies, but 'Central Station' is truly a masterpiece, it's both a road movie, an epic drama, and it learns many things about life in South America.
For those who love a non-Hollywood movie, make sure it's 'Central Station', the story is moving and dramatic, the characters are unforgettable, and the music score is a great masterpiece.
