Movie Review: Stupendous!
Summary: 5 Stars
I was at Sierra Nevada Brewing in the Big Room for night one of Tommy's stint there. The performance was everything anyone could ask for....the room crackled with energy. The venue is intimate (around 350 people), acoustically incredible and there's truly not a bad seat in the house. I consider it one of the highlights of my life to have seen this stellar musician live. This DVD definitely does not disappoint! Many thanks to Bob Littell and his great crew and staff for a wonderful evening of music and this heritage keepsake.Movie Review: Gotta love Tommy E!

I've seen Tommy live. I've seen his other DVDs. I like this one the best. The venue is very intimate, which is well captured in this video. The sound quality is very good. And I really like the variety of music genres he covers here. But more than anything else, it's Tommy. for anyone who's never seen/heard him, especially if you've tried to play guitar (and after seeing him, we all are merely trying to play), he's astounding. I had the pleasure of getting to see Tommy play in Nevada City, and since he stayed at the hotel I work at, I was also able to get his autograph. He is always awesome. This DVD shows why he is world-famous. Not a disappointing song out of the bunch. A must-have for Tommy fans and everyone who appreciates great guitar playing. If any guitarist has only enough money to buy one music dvd this year, it should be Tommy Emmanuel--Center Stage. His technical skills really need to be seen as well as heard. If anyone is not familiar with Mr. Emmanuel, prepare to be completely dazzled.There is not one wasted minute on this concert and he is certainly one of the guitar masters. Tommy is a master guitarist and entertainer. It's always best to see him in person but this DVD is a very good representation of what he does.
The music is wonderful and flawless. But the real joy is simply watching a person do what he was created to do with every bit of energy and exuberance he possesses. Tommy is a force of nature!
