Movie Reviews of Celtic Woman: A Christmas CelebrationMovie Review: A Holiday Treasure from the Emerald Isle Summary: 5 Stars
I first discovered these talented young ladies on my local PBS channel earlier this year. I then purchased the Slane Castle DVD this fall. Their angelic voices, and accompanying musicians make for wonderfully captivating entertainment. They're appearing in the Twin Cities tomorrow, thought about going, but was too late, so these DVD's give me front row seats to be viewed again and again. Can't wait until they produce another DVD and will certainly attend their next appearance here.
Movie Review: bittersweet Summary: 5 Stars
I liked this dvd a lot. Favorites include Away in a Manger sung beautifully by Orla, White Christmas by Kloe, and The Ivy Tree by Lisa! Their voices are beautiful as usual, and the audience's response is perfect.
The reason for the title is this is a goodbye for both Mave and Orla! I don't know how many people know that Orla is leaving, too. She is recording her second album, so, hopefully, in the future, we'll see them all onstage together soon!
Good luck Orla and Mave!
Movie Review: The BEST Christmas Album is The Celtic Woman Summary: 5 Stars
A Christmas Celebration As perfect as The Celtic Woman group is, this Christmas album is undoubtly the best musical work that they have done and a lot of the credit goes to David Downs. As a "retired" member of a chorale with 150 members I tend to be more critical than most people since I come from a musical background. Buy the DVD and you will not be disappointed!
Movie Review: Celtic Christmas Summary: 5 Stars
I thought I already owned some of the best Christmas concerts out there:
this DVD is a solid winner and I'm happy to add this to my collection. Watching and listening to the voices, fiddle and orchestra perform the lovely music of the Christmas season I am swept up in the aura of sincere worship to the Christ Child of Bethlehem. This crew has success after success after success...may they enjoy much more and again share it with us.
Movie Review: Exquisite! Superb performance! Summary: 5 Stars
Often, the problem with "excellence" is maintaining that standard. You will not be disappointed! David and these extraordinary women have produced another outstanding masterpiece for this Christmas season. It is a delightful mixture of Celtic and American traditional Christmas favorites. It has already earned "Heirloom" status on our Christmas shelf with "It's a Wonderful Life", "Miracle on 34th. Street", and other classic favorites.
