Movie Reviews of Celtic Thunder: It's Entertainment!

Movie Review: Music the way it ought to be
Summary: 5 Stars

I was at both nights of taping in Toronto. These guys deliver every time. They love what they do and they do it well. Individually, they are very, very good, but when they harmonize, they knock your socks off. Ryan IS "Bad Bad LeRoy Brown". "Hallelujah" is wonderful with Ryan, Keith and Neil. Damian is adorable "Watching All The Girls Go By", in creamy white, looking like he belongs in an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Paul owns "You Raise Me Up" and "Doo Whacka Doo." George, the lone Scot, among the Irish singers rocked the house with "500 Miles" And of course Keith doing a surfing medley on his red guitar, was so appropriate for the "Surfer Dude". I had really stopped paying attention to music until this group of young men were showcased in "Celtic Thunder the Show." The musical director Phil Coulter has done an excellent job of selecting the right music for each young man's beautiful interpretation of proven covers and new material written by
Mr. Coulter himself. "It's Entertainment" will be a wonderful addition to your musical library.

Movie Review: Great surprise!
Summary: 5 Stars

Took a chance ordering this because I had never heard of CELTIC THUNDER but I went on You Tube to preview some of the numbers and liked what I saw. And I am so glad that I ordered it. This concert is terrific. Great fun...great songs...great show. It's one of those unexpected treats that turn out to be such a nice surprise. This is one of those concerts that you always show guests and most wind up loving it as well. Some other reviews have critized the girl singing JUST LIKE JESSE JAMES but I happen to think she is terrific although I have to agree that she somehow seems a bit out of place. Nevertheless, this whole concert is thoroughly enjoyable and everyone my wife and I have shown this concert to really enjoys it. I know that there have been some grumblings about the choice of songs but honestly, that's the reason I bought the DVD and enjoy it so much. We then purchased their first 2 DVDs and while pleasant, we did not find them as much fun as this one. I whole-heartedly recommend CELTIC THUNDER: IT'S ENTERTAINMENT.

Movie Review: A "Can't miss" for Celtic Thunder Fans
Summary: 5 Stars

I received my preorder today and am delighted with this dvd as usual. There isn't any celtic selections and very little celtic influence on any of the numbers performed, but the guys are more polished and professional than ever. One small disappointment for me was that Neil Byrne didn't perform "When you wish upon a star" as mentioned in Amazon.com's editorial product description, but his trio with Keith and Ryan was fantastic. Missing was Zara Curtiss, the beautiful dancer of the first two dvds, but there is five other female dancers in her place and one of them (Caroline) belts out a great rendition of Cher's "Just like Jesse James" and provides a romantic encounter for Keith. Megan Sherwood, the beautiful cellist, has a new look and is more beautiful than ever. I thought she had been replaced until I saw her name in the end credits. (Which brought me out of my full-blown snit). One new aspect is the addition of several male dancers on one number (Bad, bad Leroy Brown). I'm looking forward to the next dvd already.

Movie Review: "LONG MAY THE THUNDER ROLL"...you betcha!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

As time goes on, this group just gets better and better...with each new show the lads loosen up, relax and pull out all the stops to entertain an adoring crowd. I don't believe we have to worry that they'll forget their Celtic roots...Coulter and Browne have an amazing way of coaxing out the very best in entertainment, show after show.

I think we all suspected that Neil was multi-talented...he is proving it with the opportunity to sing as well as play drums, guitar, etc.

I can't emphasize this too much - it is pure JOY to watch Damian grow up: his voice is settling into intense depths and, let's face it, the camera loves him. His rendition of "HOME" is awesome enough to cause this fan to melt into a puddle...and I'm old enough to know better....

I can only wish even more success to everyone involved with Celtic Thunder - they all know how to work hard and put on shows that command applause and appreciation...indeed, "Long may the Thunder roll" (per Phil Coulter)!!!

Movie Review: Absolute Celtic Thunder Fan
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been an avid Celtic Thunder Fan from their very beginning. I absolutely loved the more 'relaxed' atmosphere on this DVD/CD. I love the lighter set design and increased interaction with the audience. There is a great energy on the DVD, plus the beautiful harmony of the voices that are so very Celtic Thunder. While many fans have a CT favorite (mine is Keith Harkin) - each soloist brings their own personality and singing style to the show. Originally I was surprised to see a woman on the show - but I like the song and it fits with the theme of the show. Besides! What Keith fan doesn't fantasize about him holding them that way - and singing only to them. I have a new favorite song by CT - "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". It's has it all - beautiful harmony, audience participation and energy. I've been hooked since the beginning - and will follow this group of singers wherever they take me. Glenda
