Movie Review: He's even better than I remember
Summary: 5 Stars
I was (and still am) a great fan of Cat Stevens' music. I saw him in concert a few years before this show. The DVD/CD quality is amazing, especially given the age of the recordings. It is a good representation of his older work, which is what I was hoping for. Sad Lisa, Hard Headed Woman, Lady D'Arbanville, Fill My Eyes, If I Laugh, The Wind, Tuesday's Dead...these are the songs I remember seeing him play and I'm glad to have another chance to hear and see them live. If you were a fan, you will not be disappointed. If you don't know his songs, watching this DVD will introduce you to a very gifted musician, singer and songwriter. Highly recommended!
Summary of Cat Stevens: Majikat Special Edition
Cat Stevens was one of the most successful solo performers of the sixties and seventies, racking up over 50 million album sales worldwide. He had a string of 14 Top 40 singles, as well as seven top 10 albums between 1971 and 1977.The concert included on this DVD and CD was recorded on the Majikat North American tour in 1976. It was an ambitious tour involving live magicians, synchronized film projection and a specially-constructed stage.
For the first time ever, both the CD and DVD are packaged together to bring a, dare we say it, MAJIK show with you wherever you go.
