Movie Reviews of Cat PeopleMovie Review: CAT PEOPLE GET'S A PURRRFECT 5 STAR. Summary: 5 Stars
HI, THIS FILM CAT PEOPLE IS THE BEST HORROR FILMS OF THE 1980'S. IT SET THE STANDARD FOR MANY OTHER TRANSFORMATION MOVIES TO BE DOCUMENTED AS CLASSICS. THIS IS MY OPINION. FIRST OF ALL, THIS MOVIE AS A HUGE CULT FOLLOWING. 2. IT NOW HAS SPECIAL FEATURES FOR THE DVD. BEAUTIFUL ISN'T IT? NOT TO MENTION NASTASSIA KINSKI JOHN HEARD AND THE ENTIRE CAST OF CAT PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED. THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT. AND KISKI IS VERY SEXY, VERY BEAUTIFUL AND VERY MYSTERIOUS. AND PAUL SCHRADER'S DIRECTION OF THE FILM WAS AND STILL IS VERY WELL DONE AND BRILLIENT. AND AS ALWAY AMAZON COMES THROUGH WITH ANOTHER DVD GREAT CLASSIC. CAT PEOPLE... AND IN CONCLUTION I WILL SAY THIS. IF THIS MOVIE HAS A GOOD EFFECT ON PEOPLE AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THEN THAT'S GREAT. AND FOR QUITE OF CULT-FANBASE THIS MOVIE HAS ON THEM, THIS IS A CLASSIC FILM TO BE REMEMBERED AS IT WILL. NOW, THAT'S A SPECIAL EFFECT.
Movie Review: The Prrrrrfect Pussycat... Summary: 5 Stars
While not quite as subtle as the Val Lewton / Tourneur original, this re-make (re-imagining?) is powerful nonetheless. The incredibly hot Nastassia Kinski (To The Devil... A Daughter) blazes right along as the confused, young beauty who is clueless concerning her identity / destiny. Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, The Barber, Evilenko) does his feline best as Kinski's dangerous brother. John Heard (CHUD) is the zookeeper, bewitched by Kinski's very presence. The supporting cast includes Annette O'Toole, Ed Begley jr., and the legendary Ruby Dee. Also, watch for a tiny role for John Laroquette, and a cameo appearance by Lynne Lowry (The Crazies, Shivers) as an ill-fated prostitute! Oh yeah, and Ms. Kinski spends an awful lot of her screen-time without the added burden of clothing. CAT PEOPLE is an 80s classic like THE HUNGER...
Movie Review: MMEEEOOOOWWWWW!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Stylish remake that keeps very little of the original intact. Although I think the original "Cat People" by the great Val Lewton far outweighs the remake in atmosphere, this version still has it's high points. If you're looking for plenty of gore, nudity, and more of a horror tale, then this is it! Of course the story revolves around Irena, young girl who transforms into a black leopard when sexually aroused. I have awaited the release of this DVD, as my old VHS is of poor quality. Older releases of this picture on DVD had very little to offer in the way of extras. Picture and sound is very good, considering age of movie.
Movie Review: very good kinky good movie Summary: 5 Stars
i love this movie very good old school movie this was made for nastassia kinski i really think she is very beautiful and i think that it wouldn't have work with no other woman in this movie she really made this movie it's a good one to add to you're old school movie collection
Movie Review: A CULT CLASSIC WORTHY OF THAT STATUS Summary: 5 Stars
The allure of N'Orleans, a cool cinematic look, a boffo Moroder score, and good acting from McDowell, Kinski, and Dee dd up to make "Cat People" one of the most erotic thrillers of all time.David Bowie's rendering of the theme doesn't hurt, either.
